Great information and presentation by staff. We couldn’t do this tour on our last visit and it was worth the wait. While a lot of it is similar to the other caverns, there is also a uniqueness in it’s presentation alongside its backstory.
Going inside a cave was an extraordinary experience. Seeing how cave look in person, but it’s will be wet down there, so be prepared.
Tonster, we couldn't be happier to have been a part of your first cave experience! We might be biased, but we absolutely agree that it is extraordinary. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and helping us keep safety a top priority with your reminder to be prepared for moisture on our tours. Good footwear and small steps are key when touring our living caves! We hope to see you again for our Discovery Cavern Tour the next time you're craving adventure!
This is a great place to take the family. The cave tour was very informative and interesting. Our guide was very good. I'm 65 and took my son, daughter-in-law, grandson and granddaughter. The youngest of our group was 12. We also stopped at the restaurant for drinks and tubes of different tasting honey. Then we "mined for gems", which the kids really enjoyed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great place to spend the day.
Laura, we appreciate your kind words! Natural Bridge Caverns is a family-owned business, and we are honored your family chose to spend the day together with us. We strive to offer something for everyone, and we're glad your family enjoyed everything from your tour to our sluice (gem mining) to our restaurant. If you are in our area again, we hope you'll keep our Discovery Cavern Tour in mind for another fun-filled day!
I've been to NBC many times but not since this new tour opened. Rally nice formations and the guide was very knowledgeable. Most of the walking is downhill, then you take a conveyor system out so it's an easy walk. I went on the first tour of the day on a Thursday and we were the only ones on the tour. It's a little pricey but worth it - and shop online for coupons. On the other hand, they work hard to pry extra money out of you while you are there. Right off the bat they want $10 to park the car. The concession stand and the gift shop are not just overpriced, they are insanely overpriced. Bring a couple of bottles of water (you can take them into the caverns) and pack your own lunch before heading out. The parking is on the honor system and I might not have been very honorable that day. We really weren't interested in a lot of the kid-friendly activities like the climbing ropes or gem mining - for an extra price.
Lots of stairs walking down the caverns. I wouldn't recommend if you have bad knees. Overall was a great experience.
We explored both caverns and it was worth every penny. Definitely bring a bottle of water with you, it gets a bit warm down there and the air inside the caverns is stagnant.
Great cave experience. I enjoyed it very much. Lots of different cave formations. Despite the 190 steps down, the BAT system to get out was easy. If riding the BAT isn't you're thing, the slight incline up the walkway with no steps is a great alternative.
Had the pleasure of making it to Natural Bridge Caverns on the tail end of a business trip. What a beautiful and informative time. The place would be great for adults or families to spend a few hours, so much more than caves. Had the joy of running into the GM who provided so much information and history. Highly recommend the hidden wonders tour, will be back for the discovery tour when I have time.
My college age daughter and I actually took the Combo Tour (the Discovery tour and the Hidden Wonders tour) and definitely enjoyed the cave visit part of our visit. The guides were decent and the natural formations are beautiful and fascinating. My rating is about the business practices of this place and not the tour part itself. While I realize this is a 'tourist attraction,' I found it distasteful to be forced to take the stock "photo opp" at the start of each tour (available for 'only!' $28+ if you want it) and, worse, I found it highly offensive to be charged over $20 for 1 small+1arge ice cream (no pricing was listed and this total was quite the shock upon checkout). These practices ruined my experience. (of course this place is hardly the only one doing this, though it's just the one we visited. And yes, I know all about how expensive it is to run a business. I own one myself, although I don't price gouge my customers. never have. never will).
