You’ll go on a tantalizing tour of central Nagasaki’s Chinese-influenced cuisine. Sample street food in the crisscrossing lanes of Chinatown, like Champon (noodles in a pork broth topped with seafood) or steamed buns filled with tender pork belly. The Maruyama entertainment district is chock-full of famous foodie spots, while the Hamanomachi Arcade has a couple of local haunts of its own. Shop for traditional sweets at the 200-year-old Iwanaga Baijuken sweet shop, and grab a bag of Yori Yori sweets (deep-fried, twisted cookies) for later. Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the experience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do.

Yuri was our guide and she did fantastic. We had been to Nagasaki once before and visited the war memorial so this time we wanted to get to know the city better. She met us at the cruise port on time and was easy to find. She gave us a quick summary of what the day would entail and then led us on a wonderful tour of 3 different restaurants and a bit of her family and Japanese history as well. This was well worth the money and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Nagasaki.

We did a street food tour in Nagasaki with our guide, Yuri (means lily in a Japanese). Yuri was such a great guide - sweet, smart, and very kind. Yuri spoke several languages, her English was great so we were able to communicate very easily. We were able to pick three things from the provided list ahead of time. We chose Wagyu beef, crispy noodles, and one bite gyoza. We took the bus from our cruise port with Yuri’s help. The Wagyu beef and gyoza were my favorite! The beef was seared, then they cut it so you could finish cooking it to your liking. Delicious! The crispy noodles were on the bottom, then there was sauce and seafood on the top. The one bite gyoza was filed with pork and green onion with dipping sauces on the side, and beer if you wanted it. So good! We did lots of walking and saw a lot of Tokyo along the way. It was a great tour with a great guide, and I would highly recommend it.

This was our favorite tour so far! Not only did Yuri take us to the best food spots (I’m still dreaming of the gyoza) but she also shared a lot about the history of Nagasaki. We learned a lot, ate at places we’d never have found on our own, and even got to do a little shopping. I highly recommend a tour with Yuri!

Miki was just fantastic. She was personable, knowledgable, and authentic. She took us around to markets and restaurants that had snacks and meals that were delicious and local. Her english was great - and she was happy to answer any questions we had concerning history of the area, the local customs and culture, and, of course, food!!! She even had painted something special as a birthday gift for our daughter. Would highly recommend - this is a great way to experience Nagasaki!
