Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Description
This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer! This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program. The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience. All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

Wow! What an amazing experience. The dogs were amazing, the guide (Miguel) was very knowledgeable and kind and the place was so clean! Not to mention a super fun ride. Definitely worth it!!
Fantastic experience!! Our tour guide, Clark, was very accommodating and showed us the kennel of Dallas Seaver, a 6-time Iditarod winner and gave us background on all of the dogs and pointed out which dogs ran and won the big race. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions regarding the race. Additionally, getting a chance to drive our own 4-dog team was one of the highlights of our day. This excursion was a very good value for the money, we highly recommend this tour.
This was truly an amazing day. The people were very nice and very knowledgeable and very professional. I will never forget this experience. I loved petting the puppies and the dogs. Seeing them in action was incredible.
We had a fantastic experience. The guides and staff were top notch and professional. We learned so much about the dogs and the Iditarod. The dogs were adorable and so sweet and the cart ride was super fun. I would recommend this to anyone!!
This was a really interesting, informative and fun adventure. Ben introduced us to the beautiful Alaskan Huskies used in the Iditarod and told us about the 6 time winning team of Dallas Seavey. We learned about their breeding, training and selection of the 16 dogs who will run the race. These dogs are incredible athletes who just want to run. They are also incredibly sweet dogs who love lovin’. Then we mushed the dogs, which was exhilarating! A really unique and memorable experience. Highly recommend.
This was such a unique and memorable tour - I am so glad we did this one. The dogs were a pure joy to meet, so friendly and well trained. Our guide was super knowledgeable and friendly, and answered all of our questions. Mushing with the dogs was super fun. And the puppies were amazing... you wanted to take them all home!
One of the highlights of our time in Alaska was this dry land sled dog mushing tour! We booked the morning tour and were picked up on time in Talkeetna, driven to the sled dog camp, and had about three hours of learning, mushing, and playing with dogs (including puppies). We lucked out and were the only guests for that tour - no other guests on the property during that time - it was wonderful! We learned a lot about dog sledding, loved interacting with the dogs, and had a great time learning to "drive" a sled. Highly recommend this tour - it's so fun and unique!
Highly recommend this experience! It was a big highlight of our trip. The bus trip to the training kennel was about 20 minutes with narration all along the way. We started by meeting the puppies, moms, and some of the bigger dogs, then fed the reindeer and learned about the race itself and Dallas Seavey's legacy. After that, the dogs were harnessed and we headed for the woods. Driving was a ton of fun, and the dogs were so eager. We switched part way and it was a great chance to grab photos and video. The whole thing was about 3 hours door to door, and we will be talking about this for a long time to come and recommending it to friends!
All of it was awesome...driving the dogs, playing with puppies and learning about Iditarod. Highly recommend this excursion!
We had so much fun mushing the dogs and learning about sled dog racing! My son was bummed that he was not old enough to drive the team at age 10 and requested to come back on his 14th birthday 🙂! The puppies were adorable and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
