Great experience, however the upstairs of the bus was ridiculously hot, the air conditioning was non existent on a 34 degree day.
I would have rated this experience 5 stars based on the excellent guides in particular Bernie who was extremely kind and overall logistics. Unfortunately, my experience was significantly affected by interactions first with the driver, Ameen, who refused to help and was totally dismissive. The horrible and daunting experience continued later by the behavior of a bartender on Cruise No. 66 arriving in Lucerne at approximately 5:30 PM. There were two service staff members at the bar of cruise 66 and one gentleman’s behavior stood out in a very negative way. His tone and manner were intimidating and dismissive, and I felt that he treated people differently based on their appearance and skin color. The interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. This was especially disappointing because Switzerland is generally known for being welcoming and respectful to visitors. I strongly encourage the tour operator and partners involved to review this incident seriously to avoid legal issues in the future and also evaluate whether this gentlemen deserves such a customer facing position and or additional staff training or action is needed to prevent similar experiences in the future. I am extremely disappointed by this experience and believe concerns around discriminatory treatment should be addressed promptly and appropriately.
What a great experience. Jean was an awesome tour guide who shared history of the region (loved the cow bell story) and kept us organized. The views at the top and the glacial cave was amazing-not to mention and chance to play on the snow.
It was ok. The guides didn’t do much besides driving us there/back and getting our tickets. You can totally do this on your own.
Dear Amy, Thank you for joining our Mount Titlis tour from Lucerne and for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the tour did not fully meet your expectations. Our guides are there to ensure that guests can enjoy a hassle-free day in the mountains by taking care of the transportation arrangements and tickets, as well as providing information about the region, the different activities available on Mount Titlis and practical assistance throughout the day. They also remain available as a point of contact for any questions or support guests may require during the excursion. While it is certainly possible to visit Mount Titlis independently, many of our guests appreciate the convenience and peace of mind that come with a professionally organized tour, allowing them to focus entirely on enjoying their day. We nevertheless hope that you were able to take in the spectacular alpine scenery and enjoy your time on Mount Titlis. We wish you a wonderful rest of your stay in Switzerland. Kind regards, Magdalena from Best of Switzerland Tours
We travelled to Mt. Titlis from Lucerne for a half-day trip (a longer tour is also offered from Zurich) with "Best of Switzerland" tours. We were fortunate to travel on a beautiful rain-free day; our journey was picturesque and the tour covered our gondola tickets all the way from Engleberg to the summit of Mt. Titlis. The mountain itself is designed for visitors with a glacier cave, an Ice flyer, a cliff walk walk and restaurants tailored to your cuisine. We had a wonderful time; the only thing that could have been better was the time allocated by our guides for their English commentary (it was 1/3rd English and 2/3rd Spanish).
The guides were very helpful, and remained on hand through out the day, to ensure everyone got the most out of their day. The scenery was clearly beautiful, but due to the weather (which we obviously have no control over) the views were limited. This didn’t stop this trip from being a lovely experience. The snow gave it a different vibe, and actually made snow tubing a lot of fun.
It was an amazing experience! My husband and I enjoyed every aspect of this trip (even though it was very cold)! We had plenty of time to do all planned activities and still had enough free time to get a bite to eat.
The pickup site for the tour bus was easy to find and the ride to and from Engelberg from Lucern was without an hitch. Mt. Titlist is an amazing place to visit especially if you love snow and panoramic views of natural beauty. The views from the gondola and rotair to the summit were spectacular! And watching the skiers “bravely” wind down the slopes was awe-inspiring. At 75 years of age, I unfortunately had to skip the sledding, but having the clouds part for views of the majestic cliffs while on the suspension bridge will be an everlasting memory. Even though it was a beautiful sunny day, a hat, scarf and warm jacket were needed at the top. Being 10,000 ft high on a mountain in the Alps was an experience of a lifetime! Do it!
We came on April and the weather was amazing! Bring winter clothes cas up there is cold!🤩. Wonderful experience!
This was a beautiful excursion. The mountain is magnificent, and the views are spectacular! It wasn’t crowded at all and we really enjoyed the ice cave.
