- As a living place of worship, the basilica may have services in progress and pilgrims present, and modest dress is appreciated inside.
- Cable car isn't suitable for wheelchair users (limited space on board and steps up to the monastery at the top); travellers with reduced mobility should use the rack railway instead.
- Photos are welcome around the mountain, terraces and cable car, but photography and filming are not permitted during religious services or near the Holy Image inside the basilica — please be respectful in sacred spaces.
