The Quays of the Old Port are steeped in history. The first colonists arrived here on the shores of the St. Lawrence River, and it was thanks to the port that old Ville-Marie grew into the thriving international metropolis of modern-day Montreal.
Located at the entrance to the Lachine Canal, the Silo #5 is located on the jetty of Pointe-du-Moulin-à-vent, created from embankments taken from the construction of the canal.
The Lachine Canal is an iconic jewel located in the southwest of Montreal. Its 13.5-kilometre path runs between the Old Port and Lake Saint-Louis. The navigable waterway, the green urban park lined with industrial vestiges and the various activities on its banks make this site a great place to share.
Montreal’s Atwater Market (Marché Atwater) is one of Montreal’s most popular food markets. It features fresh produce, over ten butcher shops, three cheese shops, a fish shop and over a dozen specialized boutiques. The market has been a staple of the Montreal landscape for over 50 years and is one of the best places to go experience Montreal.

Fun scenic ride of the city from the canal with lots of interesting history facts. Great way to see the city and the available wine on board was a bonus.
Great discovery of the Lachine Canal from the water. The explanations of the crew were perfectly adequate. I highly recommend this tour!
I learned a lot...passed through the cool water locks , saw the bike paths and condos along the canal, learned a lot about the history of the Lachine canal and got off at the Atwater market....All in all very nice informative boat ride along the canal !
Enjoyed the one-way boat ride through the Lachine Canal locks. Our guide was friendly and informative, spoke great English, and everyone on board had a fun time. Our departure was from Atwater Market, and the boat dock is on the same side of the canal as the market, down a ramp, and there it is. Riding in this direction, you are going down (water level going down in each lock). The opposite would be true for departures from Old Port. Once we got to Old Port we took a quick spin in the water there before calling it a day, total time just under 2 hours. Highly recommended.
