This tour transports you from Paris to the magical abbey-crowned island of Mont Saint-Michel, one of the most iconic sights in all of France, aboard a private bus. Offering you a hassle-free way to explore the island with plenty of free time ensuring you do not have to adhere to a rigid sightseeing schedule. As you approach the Mount Saint-Michel, your guide will provide insight on the UNESCO-listed island. Listen to interesting anecdotes about the history of the abbey, whilst admiring the views of the island and the surrounding region of Normandy Mont Saint-Michel began humbly enough in the eighth century, when – citing orders from Archangel Michael himself – a bishop built a church on this small and secluded rock island, which later expanded during the medieval era, attracting an increasingly large number of pilgrims.
You can then choose from some of the many options for lunch, ranging from dining rooms serving rustic meat-focused fare to sophisticated restaurants with bay-view terraces specializing in seafood. Alternatively, you can stop by one of Mont Saint-Michel’s crêperies and feast on galettes (buckwheat pancakes) paired with Normandy cider, for a more casual and characteristically Breton feed. In the late afternoon, re-board the bus for the return journey to Paris, which will see passengers back in the City of Lights well in advance of bedtime.

- Please note there is a free shuttle between the Mont St Michel coach parking and the town. In Spring and Summer, you may be required to wait due to the popularity of the site. Walking from the parking to the Mont St Michel (or vice versa) takes 40 minutes.
- Knees and shoulders must be covered for both men and women to enter to the Abbey
- We strongly recommend that clients traveling with young children aged 2 or above to bring their own child seat. Infants under 2 years old should travel on a parent’s lap. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure the safety of their child.
- Please note that your self-guiding app should be download on your smartphone prior to tour. Credentials and download instructions will be provided on your voucher upon booking. Once downloaded, the app can be used offline. Please ensure that you bring earphones and have enough battery on your phone to enjoy all the content of the self-guided app once inside the Abbey of Mont Saint Michel.

This tour is beautiful and very convenient, the bus is comfortable and great air conditioning in summer. But the best part of the tour was our tour guide Dee, she was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful in every step of our road trip. Thank you for this pleasant and unforgettable day!! Spent 23 days in Europe this summer visiting 9 countries and this was my favorite day! The guide was amazing!
It was a hot day but a nice breeze waifted through and around the Abbey. Very busy stores and restaurants on the way up the hill to the Abbey. But be aware there are MANY stairs. I did not count how many but I am proud that this 69 year old man with a bad knee made it all the way!! The Abbey itself is fascinating with much history. It is about four and a half hours from Paris but we'll worth the drive.

The guide was great and the bus ride had AC which was a huge plus. My only gripe is that we didn't get that long to explore the commune. For the amount of money we paid, I wish we got more than 3.5 hours there considering it takes 8+ hours total round trip to see Mont Saint Michel. I felt like we were rushed and didn't get to really relax and truly enjoy the sights after trekking to see the castle.
Dee was very informative, knowledgeable and friendly. She explained the history of the church for the last Thousand years. Religion and political. Dee explained what to look for, where to go, where to eat and to check out the locally made Brandy. Dee was very safety conscious and warned us to stay hydrated at all times. Dee gave us a lot of insight to placed to visit in Paris, made us aware of the street scammers and the metro traffic. Dee is highly recommended and we book a Versailles Palace tour as well. My family and I really enjoyed this tour. We booked the tour though were worried about the length of the drive. The ride was relaxing and had an appropriate amount of breaks during the trip. And, we enjoyed hearing Dee. They are a great storyteller, sharing information on what we were seeing in a way that is approachable for many learning levels.
Without the ease of this tour, we would have probably missed such an amazing sight! While the time at the site versus the time spent travelling may seem unbalanced at first, you get exactly as much time as you need and you get to experience the beautiful countryside of Normandie from the comfort of a charter bus. Dee did a wonderful job of providing all the information we needed (and even some we didn't know we needed which is always appreciated!) with a positive attitude and a perfect amount of downtime to let us think about the information and make plans for ourselves.
