Micro-Group Barossa Valley Wine Tour from Adelaide

Description
This is premium small-group wine touring at it's best! Our very small groups have a maximum of 6 guests and we regularly depart with less. We visit premium wineries and pay the tasting fees, so you get to try the best wines of the region. There is no set itinerary so each day is different. We know all the best wineries, trust your local guide to create the perfect day. Some of our favourite wineries include Rockford, Langmeil, Rusden, Torbreck, Tomfoolery, Two Hands, Elderton, Gibson - and many many more! Lunch is a special menu created by the chef, which will include a range of dishes for all to share. Enjoy a glass of local wine or beer as the perfect accompaniment to your seasonally inspired lunch. Please note: we do not visit mass-production wineries like Wolf Blass or Jacobs Creek to taste wine, nor breweries, gin distilleries, cheese shops, Maggie Beers, etc - This is a specialist wine tour, not a general sightseeing tour of the Barossa.

Itinerary
Start your day by being picked up from your Adelaide CBD accommodation around 9:15am in a luxurious tour vehicle. Along the way to the first winery, your wine guide will familiarize you with the region and its roots, along with Adelaide's other main wine producing regions. After a leisurely 60 minute drive you arrive in wine country, where you will get to taste premium wine from the best boutique producers as led by passionate and knowledgeable locals. Wineries visited could include the stunning Murray Street Vineyard, historic Langmeil, or custodians of the "Command" vineyard at Elderton to name but a few. Your guide chooses winery visits so you will get to try a good selection of premium wines which truly represent the region's different wine varieties, styles, and personalities.
After the second winery of the day, it's off to lunch at one of the regions best restaurants. Sit back and enjoy a delicious restaurant lunch at one of our fabulous restaurant partners. Enjoy a glass of local wine or beer as the perfect accompaniment to your seasonally inspired lunch.
After lunch you'll head to a touristy location to stretch your legs and explore the region more, before finishing up at your final winey. Your guide will have picked out a final winery to complement or contrast the first half of the day. We usually finish the day with some heavy Shiraz, which can be found at wineries like Torbreck, Two Hands, Greenock Creek, along with many other options. At the end of the tour, you are transported back to your accommodation at around 5:15pm along with anything you may have purchased during the day.

We went to 3 wineries not 4 which was a better amount The included lunch was excellent Our driver was very knowledgeable friendly and made it all a very good day
Hi Peter, after many years in the business we also realised that 3 wineries was the perfect amount of wineries to visit on tour. More time to relax, to taste, to take in the views and stories, and to connect with your fellow travellers and the region. Our experiences are not designed to be a drinking race but to get the best experience out of your day. Thanks for taking the time to provide valuable feedback.
We had a wonderful day visiting a number of fabulous vineyards with a great group of people. All the wineries were so generous with their wines and we ended up buying a few of our favourites. Lunch was amazing and we would recommend this tour wholeheartedly.
Thanks Dawn, great to hear you're enjoying Craig out on tour in the beautiful Barossa. Looking at the itinerary he chose, your day included all of the most generous pouring wineries out there. Lunch would have been a very welcome intermission! Thanks for the great review.
Had a great tour with Matthew. We ended up as the only two on the tour so had a private tour experience. Visited three great wineries each with excellent wines. The lunch was also delicious with a very generous selection of food and drinks. We even got to meet and do a tasting with the winemaker at our last stop! Great value for money and worth the extra compared to other group tours to visit a higher caliber of wineries and get a true experience of the Barossa.
Thanks a lot for the fab feedback team! Was seriously lovely having you both onboard to explore the more boutique side of the Barossa in style. Already looking forward to having you back on tour again soon!
Matthew selected some great wineries to visit, two were very good & one was exceptional for our personal palate - thank you. Lunch was tasty & plentiful + Matthew was friendly & very informative in between tastings. A very enjoyable day all round.
Hi Pam, we're hay to hear you enjoyed your day out with "the other Matt". On our shared group tours we always like to showcase the diversity of the region, by taking you to producers with differing styles of winemaking. Of course, we only partner with producers that meet our quality standards. Thanks for the feedback!
Matt was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. The tour was enjoyable, and the surroundings were gorgeous. The lunch was a feast for our eyes and palate. Though not Matt’s fault, of the three wineries, two were not very personable, which made experiencing their wines less enjoyable. Overall, we enjoyed our day and the tour.
Thanks for the feedback Barbara. We always monitor our winery partners for quality service, so it's news to hear that a couple weren't up to scratch. I'll be having my guides report back on all three wineries in future to see if this was a once off, if there are new staff that require some training, or if it was just an off day. As it happens, I had already aksed Matt for feedback on one of the wineries you visited and he said the service and knowledge was great - so we should be back. Thanks again.
Driver had exceptional knowledge of the area and wineries. We loved the tour. Vehicle was comfortable.
Thank you Julie for taking the time to write wonderful review. We are stoked to hear you had such a fab time with us on tour.
Absolutely amazing wine tasting day. Our guide Tom was brilliant, very well informed, friendly and professional. The tour included a beautiful lunch and all of the vineyards were welcoming. Highly recommend.
Thanks for the kind words, Kate. We take great pride in our relationships with the wineries, so they treat our guests like family. Our guides also have a lot of say in how the day unfolds, so we're pleased to hear Tom took great care of you - he's a fabulous host.
Matt was a great tour guide to Barossa. He has an excellent knowledge of wines and the area. He chose a variety of smaller wineries but where we also would have the opportunity to likely access them in the US. The small group (we were 5) was perfect as our tastings were personalized. We had to stay on schedule but didn't seem too rushed.
Hi there, great to hear you had a lovely day out with "the other" Matt. He's such a passionate and knowledgeable guide, I love that it comes across to our guests. We aim to give our guests just under an hour at each winery, and about 75 minutes for lunch. We've found it's enough time to have a relaxed experience, but we do need to move on once we're done. Some other operators try to cram in 5 or 6 wineries, and o have no idea how the would do that - their groups would be incredibly rushed all day long! Sometimes less is more. Thanks for the fab feedback!
Wonderfuly day out, great vineyards on the way, a very tasty lunch and super interesting insights and local knowledge along the way. Highly recommend!
Thanks for the great feedback on our newest guide Cheryl! We're super stoked to hear you enjoyed your day out with us in the Barossa.
A excellent tour just four of us with driver and guide Paul. Lots of history of Adelaide and the Barossa on the way up. We were completely unaware of the German History beforehand. Visited four Wineries including Yalumba (our favourite Viognier) and three smaller ones. Great range of wines to try with some surprises including a sparking Shiraz.
Thanks for a fab review Jane. We love showcasing smaller boutique wineries, happy to hear you loved them too - and the Sparkling Shiraz!
