Mexico Rocks Day Sail Shared Guided Tour
Description
Explore the pristine Northern coast of Ambergris Caye, with amazing blue waters and beautiful views along the way. While we start our morning sail, we serve you fresh fruit and homemade Belizean meat-pies. In the end of 2015 Mexico Rocks became a part of the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, to protect its rich marine life and precious corals. We do our first stop for snorkeling there and then continue to our favorite spot - a shallow area close by the reef, that is just like a natural pool (great for non-swimmers as well)! Here we make a break to relax in the shallow warm water, while the crew prepares our famous Belizean buffet on-board. Traditional dishes like stewed chicken and rice and beans with our Captain’s secret recipe BBQ fish! After lunch we return South doing a second snorkel stop at Tres Cocos. Open bar with local rum, vodka, gin, soft drinks and juices is included. Try the specials, rum punch and "panty rippers"!

Pick up is not included. We depart from the Palapa Bar dock, and we meet there 15 minutes before departure. Then the ride to Mexico Rocks takes 1 h 15 min, while you lay down on comfortable cushions enjoying the ocean, the views and the sunshine, accompanied by drinks and music.
Mexico Rocks is an area of huge coral heads scattered all over this snorkeling spot - making it look like a Mexican sombrero, as some say the name comes from. Since Mexico Rocks became a part of the protected Hol Chan Marine Reserve in November 2015, it’s become famous for its prominent amount of marine life, and the coral formations has been flourishing.
After Mexico Rocks, we travel for about 15 minutes and then stop at a "natural pool" area where we anchor and serve our famous Belizean buffet onboard. It is an exclusive stop that only we make - we have the advantage of only drafting 2 feet which makes it possible to anchor in such shallow water, and we are also blessed with a Captain that know the spots where nobody else goes. This is a shallow area close by the reef and except from spectacular views it is also a unique setting and a refreshing break. The water is shallow and calm, making it perfect also for non-swimmers!
From Mexico Rocks back to town we travel for 1 h 15 min, but we stop on the way at Tres Cocos, a small concentration of marine life along the reef where a large amount of fish can be seen. This area is an entrance for large reef fish that usually lurk around these areas in search for food.

Excellent spots to snorkel. Rays and nurse sharks swim right beside you, and small fish swim right next to you. Captain is friendly.
This excursion was more than I expected. From the moment we arrived on the boat Charlie (our captain) and Ana felt like family! They were to attentive and sweet and made the experience 100 times better. The ride was so smooth and peaceful, the water was gorgeous and the drinks were flowing! Ana went out snorkeling with us and was so amazing with her guidance we saw such beautiful fish, lobster and even a turtle! After that we swam with stingrays and sharks! I thought it would be scary but both Charlie and Ana made us feel very safe. The food on board was AMAZING as well I wish I could have it again right now lol. I would 10/10 recommend this tour especially with both Charlie and Ana because they were wonderful and so fun.
