Fun float trip. Michael “Tuna” Rich, was a fun and informative guide. He handled the float with expertise. They provided waterproof bib overalls, jacket, boots, and life vest. Great ground crew at the start and end of the trip. Dress warm.
Excellent excursion! Our guide Tuna was incredible and very personable. The rafting is down a river and great fun. You'll see the glacier at the start, but the rafting trip goes the opposite way. Would certainly go again!
Dalton was super kind, cute, professional and super funny. He’s the best with young kids. He was super safe.
Beautiful scenery and relaxing trip down the river. Our guide was knowledgeable and funny. We would do this activity again.
Sophie was exceptional as our guide. She provided great education and her sense of humor filled the raft with laughter. Coupled with breath-taking views, it was an excursion we thoroughly enjoyed. Happy Birthday Sophie!
My kids and I did the Mendenhall river rafting and had a blast. It’s a fun activity for all ages; rapids were fun and not scary. Our guide was Dalton and he was great. Very knowledgeable, he was able to navigate the raft with ease and added some fun moves to keep us on our toes. Give Dalton a raise he was the best!
A family friendly activity in a beautiful setting. Our guide, Chris , was absolutely fabulous. We would recommend taking this river floating to everybody, who visits Juneau.
We just returned from a sensational rafting trip on Mellenhall Lake and River. It was fascinating and fun. You get a great view of the Mellenhall Glacier from the lake at the outset of the trip. As we approached the river rapids everything was well navigated by our experienced guide. I highly recommend this trip.
Trip got canceled. 1 hour notice. Got refund. Zero crowd size. Not enough water I was told. Caught a ride on bus and saw the glacier.
This was disappointing! There was no narration on our trip to the starting point. The process to get geared up was pretty chaotic; it wasn't really clear what we were supposed to do or if it made sense to do it in a particular order. I was really looking forward to seeing the glacier up close and instead, it was sort of visible in the background and we immediately rowed away from it. Forget any real photos showing it. There was also no photo taken of us in the raft for purchase so I guess we saved some money there at least. As far as wildlife, we didn't see any. Not an eagle, not a salmon, nothing. We saw a lot of people's backyards and fencing to prevent flooding. Certainly no spectacular vistas as promised in the excursion description. It was pouring rain which of course couldn't be helped so it was actually kind of a relief to reach the point where we got out. Our shoes remained dry since we wore the provided boots but when we left the lean-to to head up to our bus, there was an absolutely enormous puddle on the path that we had to step in. So much for our dry feet. Considering that two or three tour groups daily travel that path for the raft company, you would think they would make an attempt to put something there or make an alternate path. No narration on the way back in the bus. This excursion was so expensive compared to the other things we did and it just. Plain. Wasn't worth it. We had much more fun doing things that were $60-80 less. You should try something else.
