Mendenhall Glacier Lake Canoe Tour

Description
Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE a hike.

Hannah was our tour guide. Courteous and thorough guide. Even threw in some corny jokes for fun. It was a windy day and she made sure that we got as close as possible to the glacier as well as Nugget Falls. Overall, it was a great tour. Equipment provided was in great condition. Pickup and drop-off were on time. Very recommended tour.
Elymus and Cortland were fantastic guides, and the scenery could not be beat. Most beautiful lake ever, with a waterfall! Canoeing across the lake took a little effort but wasn't too hard (they said 6.1 miles there and back but felt shorter), and then a very short hike on the other side to get some great visuals of the glacier! Highly highly recommend!
Many hands make light work, sounds like everyone paddled hard and Elymus and Cortland led a fantastic tour for all! The visuals of the glacier during the hike are otherworldly, and we love sharing it with our guests! Thanks for the kind review!
Fantastic trip that exceeded our expectations. Our guide Elisha was awesome. I would totally recommend this tour.
Elisha is all awesome, all the time. Whether he is guiding canoes or face to face with a bear, he is calm, composed, and exceeding expectations. Thanks for touring with Elisha and Liquid!
Chris was amazing! Very informative and we loved the jokes! It was an amazing experience getting so close to the glacier. It was a lot of work, but that’s what we signed up for. Would definitely recommend.
Chris is not a guide we even knew he had on staff, but whichever guide has adopted this nickname, it sounds like they gave an incredible tour! Thanks for the kind review, and we wish you safe travels throughout the rest of your time in Alaska!
5/5 glacier views. Cortland and Brady were excellent and entertaining!
Cortland and Brady are roommates, and they sit in their rooms, tummies on the floor, feet in the air, and giggle/kick their heels together thinking about kind reviews like the one you wrote here. Thank you for the five-star review, and for choosing Liquid!
It was great. Better than last time, though the glacier has receded to the edge of the lake. Tor did a great job keeping the info flowing and she is VERY comfortable out in nature and had plenty to share. Stacie must have raised her right. We were fortunate to have great weather with only minimal katabatic winds - still a plenty good workout, so bring your shoulders in ship shape.
Stacie raised a canoeing, hiking, guiding MACHINE when she brought Tor (short for Tornado) into this world. We are glad to hear that you had a wonderful time, and thanks for having it with Liquid Alaska!
Emylus and Elijah were great! Awesome energy and very passionate. Loved hearing about their stories and especially Elymus and his goals to own a reservation. Best of luck to both of them
Elymus and Elisha, or E squared as we like to call it at Liquid Alaska, are a fearsome duo that creates lifetime memories for all of their guests! We know they have big dreams to further their guiding careers, and we thank you for writing this review to support both your guides and local business Liquid Alaska!
Elymus and Elisha were amazing guides! We had such a fun time exploring the lake and the glacier. Their passion for sharing their knowledge and love for the area was palpable- every question we had was answered. Thank you for a great time!
Elymus and Elisha aren't owls, but they sure are a hoot and a half! They are informed, professional, and funny all in one boat! We are glad you had a great time, thanks for choosing Liquid!
This tour might be the highlight of my entire Alaska vacation! It was so special to be just 200 yards from the glacier and to do the hard work as a group to get there instead of just being taken there. Our Guide, Elisha, was so encouraging and a wealth of knowledge. The 6 mile round trip journey was a workout for my 44 year old body, but not so much that I couldn’t do it. Highly, highly recommend!
We cannot tell you how happy it makes Liquid and Elisha to hear that we were a highlight of the entire vacation! That is what we strive for, and Elisha always does a wonderful job. You got exceptional, exclusive views because you worked for it, and got to reap the reward! Thanks for the very kind review!
Brady did a great job! He was knowledgeable, funny, upbeat, and pleasant.
Brady always does a great job! We know his mom has been reading these, we will be sure to pass this along to her. Thank you for the five-star review!
