A hidden gem that deserves to be discovered by far more people. Even though Idoia was unavailable herself, she had no trouble arranging a last-minute tour for us, and everything was organized seamlessly. The moment we met our guide, Mayra, we knew we were in good hands. She opened the tour with a bold promise: that she was there to make us want to return to Uruguay. By the end of the day, she had absolutely succeeded. She brought the country's history and culture to life with passion, knowledge, and a wonderful sense of humor. Colonia may be small and charming, but it holds key pieces of Uruguay's story, and Mayra helped us appreciate its significance in a truly engaging way. The mate experience elevated the entire outing to another level. Martin & co. effortlessly unveiled the traditions, history, and rituals surrounding yerba mate, leaving us eager to learn even more. What made the experience truly special was how personal it felt. Rather than a typical tour, it felt like spending the day with good friends who happened to know everything about their country. "Highly recommended" doesn't even begin to do this experience justice.
Very informative, knowledgeable guide, great time, well worth it. Loved learning about the history of Uriguay
