We have combined the best Madeira Wine tasting tour in Funchal. The Blandy's wine tour is arguably the best wine experience in Madeira and you'll be taken around the famous wine lodge understanding the history and you'll end up tasting the best Madeira wines. You get to be guided around the Blandy's lodge with a certified guide and then finish with tasting 3 of the nicest Madeira wines they have to offer. We then invite you to a unique artisenal cheese shop to taste 3 of the most delicious cheeses with a glass of wine included to finish of the experience.

The guided tour of Blandy's Wine Lodge is available from Monday to Saturday, and are suitable for visitors with various levels of wine knowledge, as well as visitors with children. All the tours are accompanied by brand ambassadors, who will walk you through the different areas of the Wine Lodge, share secrets of Madeira wine production and offer a wine tasting at the end of the visit. After the tour we take you to an artisan cheese shop for a cheese tasting and wine experience. The tour's are available in Portuguese, English, German, French and Spanish languages.

Good trip organised by Neil of Madeirafoodies. Easy to book through Trip Advisor and good communications from Neil himself. Directions on the day were spot on. Arrived at Blandy's and had the tour with a very knowledgeable guide, then on to a short tasting of three different types of Madeira. The museum is a revelation - although we weren't given quite enough time to take it all in, in my opinion. After the tasting, Neil had organised a cheese & wine tasting a short walk away, with the very friendly Denis in his cheese shop. Again, directions provided by Neil were spot on. Denis's cheese shop is so much more - he sells all sorts of produce from the Azores. Cheeses, which aren't available anywhere else, plus condiments, foods and wine. The red is particularly good! Denis talked us through the three cheeses and the wine and explained the maturing process of each. Highly recommended. Speak to Neil (on Instagram or Facebook) at Madeirafoodies.
We didn't realise the wine tasting and cheese tasting were in 2 totally different places and when we finished the wine the cheese shop wasn't open until 4pm.
Hi Karen, yes that was my fault totally forgot to tell you, on Thursday's he closes for 2hrs to get fresh cheese, glad you enjoyed both experiences, we mix it up with two spots so you get to enjoy two different places and fantastic cheese and extra wine :)
The wine tour was excellent with a very knowledgeable host. The cheese and wine was not mentioned and we forgot to ask therefore we didn't go.

The guide was experienced and we enjoyed the tour. But since the discreption of the tour said ”wheelchair accessible” we tought so. Anyway, you can not do the tour unless you can walk the stairs but you can participate in the wine tasting (which were very good).
Great guided wine tour and paired with cheese was a perfect combo :) Really detailed guided experience of the history of madeira wine too.
The tour of the museum was very informative. The tasting of 3 Madeira wines a bit scarce, if you are not yet a connoisseur. We also missed the opportunity to ask questions. One highlight was the unexpected upgrade to tapas in a nearby tavern. This was very delicious and even free for us! Thanks also for the friendly organization of the process to Neil 👍
Educational wine tour and tastings at Blandy's, followed by lovely tapas dishes and poncha at a cosy eaterie. Very enjoyable.
