Around The Island - Two Days Tour From 9am To 5pm (Each Day)

This two day tour is an ideal way to see more of the island of Madeira. Our guide/driver, Gloria, was excellent. She was friendly, polite and very knowledgeable about the routes and places we visited. We had plenty of time at each of the stops and never felt at all rushed. The trip was an excellent addition to our holiday which we would highly recommend.

Great tour of the island. It’s like a quick guide to what the island has to offer. our tour guide Lionel (day 1) was so funny and knowledgeable about the tour. Not a dull moment. The east side of the island has a lot more to offer when it comes to culture. Loved the unexpected small hikes (Prepare your hiking shoes). The west coast is very pretty but I would’ve loved a longer stay in Porto Moniz. That’s the main attraction and 2 hours isn’t enough (Don’t forget your swimwear and towels). As after that the rest of the west coast tour seems to be just meh. But overall, it’s a worth it tour to book. Can easily learn and see Madeira in two days.

This was a fantastic way to see the island!!! I highly recommend it. I was a little apprehensive at first, wondering if we’d stay busy the whole time or if it was slow-paced. In the end, I thought it was perfect. We had several stops where we were able to use the restroom and stop in the shops or get a drink, but we moved quite quickly through the island. The western side was so beautiful and the lunch stop was great! We swam in the free public lava pools and it was amazing! I highly recommend eating a quick lunch there and then swimming in the lava pools. It feels cold at first but is very refreshing once you get all the way in. (Btw there was a huge line for the paid lava pools, so we didn’t go there, but it also looks nice. The free ones were great, though-no need to spend extra money.) Day 2, the Eastern side, was also filled with stunning landscapes and fun stops. Santana was pretty and the triangle houses were fun to see. It was a cloudy day, so we were basically in the clouds for the pico do arieiro, but it was beautiful and the drive up there was incredible! Our guide was Lionel and he did a great job! He was very considerate and helpful, always trying to stop at the best places and find the best views, taking the more scenic roads at times and making us laugh with funny comments. He did great in Spanish and English, since we had both languages in our van. If you only have one day to see the island, I recommend Western side with the amazing lava pools at Porto Moniz, but if you have 2 days to do both, doing both days is a great way to spend time in the island.

The tour provides a good overview of the island and lifestyle of the Madeirans Beware the east side of the island has many winding roads that can result in motion sickness.

This trip was such a great way to get a wonderful overview of Madeira, especially since I didn't have a car. Over two days, we visited all of the popular places around the island. My guides were so knowledgeable about the area and I learned so much. Pickup and drop off were seamless in Funchal center and both days were truly enjoyable. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate in the higher elevations, which was disappointing. But it's just an excuse to go back.

Incredibly good value. Saw all the best places with Lionel who was a great guide. Very informative and drove safely. Would highly recommend this trip for anyone not wanting the stress of driving themselves around the island

You will travel through lots of tunnels and drive through winding mountains. You pass through quaint villages and even rise above the clouds.

It is the best option to visit the island because driving on unfamiliar roads and paths at a considerable height is a bit crazy. I had never seen the slopes there, never, really. The driver-guide seems experienced, knows the roads, and I felt comfortable. I liked the eastern part of the island more, the incredible landscapes and forests, the stunning nature, the streams and brooks. It just seemed incredible, impressive to me. The only thing, which obviously the company was not at fault for, was that it was extremely cold there, extremely, brutally cold! Between one thing and another, I got quite sick. Please, as a recommendation, warn those who sign up to bring warm and waterproof clothing because you go to a high altitude and it gets quite cold. The bus was great, small and cozy, although in the end, we were switched to another minibus and I, sitting in the front seat which is alone, had nothing to hold onto, no handrail. But it was fine. I will repeat again because I will return with my parents and will take the same tour. I was very cold! Haha. To anyone reading this, the excursion was great, the guide was the same, but bring warm clothing, really, regardless of the time of year.

Fantastic value for the money! Our driver and guide Paulo Coelito was so knowledgeable, good fun and passionate about Madeira. I learned and saw so much in those two days and would definitely recommend it!😊

The outbound trip went very well, knowledgeable guides explained everything to us very well; we saw many things in a general way, but in 8 hours it is tough to see everything properly.
