Enjoy a great-value shared sunrise transfer to Pico do Arieiro using fixed meeting points in strategic tourist areas. This option is designed for travellers who prefer a lower price and can meet us at one of the listed points instead of using hotel pickup. The meeting-point system keeps the early-morning route simpler, more direct and more reliable. Hotel pickup and hotel drop-off are not included. Return transfer is included back to the same meeting point after sunrise. We normally go to Pico do Arieiro, but if weather or visibility conditions are not favourable, an alternative viewpoint may be used to provide the best possible experience. Please bring warm clothing, as summit temperatures can be much lower than in Funchal. Toilet facilities may be limited.

Pico do Arieiro is Madeira’s third-highest peak and the highest viewpoint on the island reachable by car, at 1,818 metres above sea level. This is where you will watch the sunrise and enjoy one of Madeira’s most spectacular mountain settings above the clouds.
Pick up and drop off at funchal or caniço, plus driving to the different points of this experience takes roughly 1h15 minutes

Important Information

- This is a short and simple sunrise transfer designed for travellers who want to see sunrise at Pico do Arieiro and return early to their meeting point to enjoy the rest of the day.
- No hike or guided walking activity is included with this option.
- The standard return transfer leaves Pico do Arieiro after the sunrise visit. Guests who choose to start the PR1 trail will not be able to use the included return transfer from Pico do Arieiro.
- A PR1 trail pass is included only if the “Sunrise with Separate PR1 Pass” option is selected. It is a separate official trail permit, subject to availability.
- The PR1 pass gives access to the trail only. It does not include a guided hike, hiking assistance, extra waiting time, luggage storage, or return transport after starting the PR1 trail.
- Guests who choose to start the PR1 trail give up the included return transfer
- The PR1 pass may also be used separately from the sunrise transfer, depending on the date and time slot confirmed.
- Please bring warm clothing and suitable footwear. Mountain temperatures can be much lower than in Funchal before sunrise.
- Mountain weather can change quickly, and clear views, sunrise colours or visibility cannot be guaranteed. The tour normally operates when access is open and conditions are safe. If conditions at Pico do Arieiro are not favourable, an alternative viewpoint may be used. Weather, limited visibility, or use of an alternative viewpoint do not automatically qualify for a refund if the main tour operates.

The drivers are punctual and friendly. I was able to see the sunrise at the perfect time. The roads are narrow and there is a lot of parking, so it is safer to leave the driving to a local driver. Pickup points are also easy to understand and I think good
Gil was great! He was very helpful and outgoing and communicative. The views were epic! Bring a blanket m, I went in May and it was pretty cold.
The trip was amazing, our guide was extremely friendly and flexible, he arrived to pick us up exactly on time and made sure that we didn’t feel rushed during the tour, encouraging us to take our time when completing the skywalk. He even brought blankets for us all, which were very much appreciated as we were not adequately prepared for the cold when watching the sunrise so high up! Overall an excellent experience, would highly recommend!
