Today, male chefs dominate the scene, like the famous Paul Bocuse, however it is the women who evolved the renowned cuisine. We'll guide you through this gastronomic journey infused with passion, history, and exquisite French food and wine. Find out why eating and drinking are not just a pastime in Lyon, but a way of life. Beautiful XXIIth Century Cathedral that still bears the stigmates of the French war of Religion.
The largest pedestrianised city square in Europe, with a statue of Louis IX right in the heart of the Presqu'ile of Lyon. Here we pick up the 'secret sweet treat' from Voisin, a Lyon based chocolate shop, to enjoy at the end of the tour.
A hot dish main course and a glass of wine in a family run Bouchon that first opened nearly 100 years ago. You have a choice of typical Bouchon style dishes from the menu, covering meat, fish and vegetarian options.
Here we get an Expresso at one of Lyon's top coffee boutiques before heading back into the oldest part of the Hôtel-Dieu, to drink the coffees and taste the final 'secret' sweet treat to finish the tour.

Four friends took the Lyon food tour with Ashe. We enjoyed her introduction to the food, culture and history of Lyon. The various sites had tasty offerings and far more than enough food & wine for our evening meal. It was fun exploring the Old Town with Ashe and learning her perspective on life in Lyon. We returned to some of the places we visited in subsequent days for culinary gift purchases.
