Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada

We had an incredible day trip from Hurghada to Luxor that truly exceeded all our expectations. From start to finish, everything was well-organized, comfortable, and filled with unforgettable experiences. What made the day extra special was our amazing tour guide, Marian. She was absolutely outstanding — warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing the rich history of Luxor. Marian had a way of bringing every site to life, from the Valley of the Kings to the Karnak Temple, weaving fascinating stories with historical facts that kept both the adults and the kids completely engaged. She was also incredibly thoughtful, making sure everyone was comfortable, answering all our questions with patience and detail, and even suggesting the best spots for photos! Thanks to Marian, we didn't just see Luxor — we experienced it. Her energy and love for Egypt's history were infectious, and we left feeling inspired and full of appreciation for this incredible place. I can’t recommend this trip — and Marian — highly enough. It was a perfect family day we’ll always remember!

We were really happy with the Luxor Tour for 2 days and were able to see all the important sights. Our guide (Ghada Kamel) was an exceptional guide with vast knowledge of the sights and temples and also was very generous in treating us to falafel sandwiches whenever we wanted. Overall a great experience!

We had two days in Luxor that were made especially wonderful by our guide Marian Azer. We packed so much in but never felt rushed, all because of Marian. Landing in Luxor in the morning, our guide got us some coffee and a pastry and then we headed off to the Valley of the Kings where we learned and saw where the Pharaohs were entombed (sooo many tombs there, including the boy king, King Tut!). Anyway, amazing that you can pack so much in a two day tour. In the two days, we saw: Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Colossi of Memnom, Karnak Temples, and Luxor Temple. Our guide was able to give us some real historical insight into how and why the ancient Egyptians built these temples and tombs and bonus, she can read a lot of the hieroglyphs! “Owl, Owl, Snake, Jackal”. The highlight for us was our guide’s recommendation that we visit Luxor Temple at night which I would totally recommend as well. When you book your tour, ask for Marian Azer to be your guide, you won’t regret it! Also, it’s worth mentioning: having a glass of wine and seeing the sunset over the Nile is pretty special as well as the sunrise hot air balloon ride.

I would highly recommend this tour. Having a smaller tour group was great as it provides extra flexibility and personlisation to what we witnessed on the larger tour groups we encountered. Marian our tour guide was fantastic and she spoke perfect English and was very informative on ancient Egypt history and also providing a general understanding of what life is like in modern day Egypt. My mother and I felt very well looked after throughout the two days we toured with Egypt portal tours. Hot air ballooning was a personal highlight and would recommend this to anyone heading to Luxor as a must do experience.

Our tour guide Mahmoud Gamal is very knowledgeable and he is a very good guide. We are very curious and have a lot of questions after visiting those amazing temples and tombs, he is able to patiently answer all of them which is very impressive. Not only does he give knowledge, he is taking care of logistics and arranging horses carriages etc. would highly recommend the guide. Thank you Mahmoud! The Aswan to Luxor cruise crew is very good. Nice atmosphere, good room, good buffet. It is just the time schedule arrangement by the company is a bit strange, every morning we had to get up very early and all the cruises are going to the same temples at the same time window, felt a bit rushed. I think this is for all the cruise companies. We paid quite some for the tour, but felt like the crew and the guide actually did not get much from what we paid. The last night belly dance performance could be better. Anyhow, we had a good time.

We booked a trip through Egypt Tours for a tour of Luxor. The booking process was seamless and easy. The communication was consistent throughout and emails were answered in good time. Hussain picked us up on time, in a mini van which was clean and extremely comfortable. The drive was pleasant and the stop in-between to go toilet and strech our legs was a good touch. Nour our guide for the two days met us at Luxor. He was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. No question was too much for him. We felt extremely looked after and would highly recommend a tour with Hussain and Nour.
