It was wonderful. I have never done a wine tour before and it was smooth & effortless. Sam was a wonderful guide, and very personable.
Great wineries! Tim was excellent host, driver was great, wonderful group on the tour.
Enjoyed the drive out and the beautiful RGNY and Pelligrini wineries. Definitely would do it again. Easy to get to then pick up point. The information provided was enlightening. Plenty of time to taste and tour the grounds of each winery.
I took this tour in 2019 when it was actually as described. This last Sunday was a faint echo of my previous experience. It's a pleasant outing, but not edifying in any way. I'm not sure whether our host was a sommelier. She was friendly and made sure we all got back on the bus, but she never discussed the wines or the vineyards. She was also apparently unaware that there were several groups of friends who had been told they would be seated together. This resulted in an unpleasant scrambling at the first stop, though she smoothed the way at the second. Not hearing about the vineyards or wines from her would have been fine if we'd gotten the information at the venues. The people at our first stop didn't even both to wait for everyone to get seated before they barreled through a very short presentation. Other aspects were also oversold. The artisanal lunch was pizza at the first stop. There was no food at all at the second stop. I bought two bottles of wine at the second stop. I did not receive a discount despite showing them my tour bracelet. More miscommunication? A change in policy? If you don't have a car or just don't want to drink and drive, this is as good a way as any to spend a day in the beautiful Hudson Valley. The views are still gorgeous and the time at each stop is enough to explore. But this is no longer the Crush experience I was expecting and not one I would recommend to my friends. I can't imagine going to a festival organized by this version of the company, must less touring Europe 😱
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your recent Hudson Valley day trip did not meet your expectations, especially after enjoying your first experience with us in 2019. Our host that day (Oct 26) , Stephanie, is a new sommelier with Crush and was substituting for Sam, who normally leads this tour and provides in-depth wine education throughout the day. While Stephanie is a knowledgeable and caring host, we recognize that she’s still learning the nuances of our program and the region — and your comments help us guide her training to ensure every guest receives the full educational experience we’re known for. We also want to clarify that this particular Sunday tour is not representative of our broader portfolio. Our multi-day European wine journeys — all personally led by Sam — have received unanimous five-star reviews for the past several years, reflecting the high standards of quality, hospitality, and expertise we hold ourselves to. That said, we take your comments seriously and are following up with our Hudson Valley winery partners to address the service and communication issues you mentioned. We’d welcome the chance to make this right and restore your confidence in us. Please reach out to us at info@crushwinexp.com — we’d be happy to offer you something toward a future experience that better reflects the true Crush Wine Experiences standard. Warm regards, The Crush Wine Experiences Team
This was a very interesting and fun trip. I learned quite a lot about the types of grapes that used to make wine. Both vineyards were nice. The Pellegrino vineyard was my favorite because we allowed to see where they process the wine and the storage containers.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback! We are delighted to hear you enjoyed the experience. Your words mean a lot to us, as we work each week to provide a fun and educational tour for our guests.
I would definitely recommend this tour. I give RGNY a 10. The winery and grounds were beautiful. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The wines in the tasting were all good. We ordered the guacamole which was excellent. Pellegrini’s tasting room was overcrowded and lacked any atmosphere. The lunch was delivered late, but our sommelier, Tim, worked very hard to get everyone served in a timely manner. The server’s explanation of the wines included in the tasting was unenthusiastic. The vineyard was wine crushing while we were there and our sommelier, Tim, provided an informative explanation of the process. Stopping at the farm was an added treat. The blueberry pie was delicious.
Thank you so much for your kind and detailed review. We’re thrilled you enjoyed RGNY, the wines, and Tim’s efforts at Pellegrini — and glad the farm stop (and that blueberry pie!) hit the spot. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to see you again on another tour soon. Warm regards, Sam Crush Wine Experiences
First winery with gf. A bit tiring but great experience and the market was the best part. 4 different wines, 2 locations, and lunch. Easy round trip tasting. Nice sommelier& driver.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience — we’re thrilled to hear this was your first winery visit together! It’s wonderful that you enjoyed the tastings, the market, and the hospitality of our sommelier and driver. We know the day can be full, but we’re glad you found it rewarding and memorable. We hope to welcome you both on another Crush Wine Experience soon! Warm regards, Sam Kimball Founder & Sommelier Crush Wine Experiences
The wine tour and tasting was a fun experience. The guide was knowledgeable and patient. The only downside is that I did not enjoy the lunch option of sandwiches.
Dear Guest, Thank you for joining us and for your kind words about the tour and our guide — we’re delighted you enjoyed the overall experience. We appreciate your feedback about the lunch. The sandwiches are designed as a light option to allow more time for tastings, but we’ll certainly take your comments into account as we continue to refine our offerings. We hope to welcome you again on another Crush Wine Experience soon! Warm regards, Sam Kimball Founder & Sommelier Crush Wine Experiences
It was very annoying that seats were reserved for groups on the bus and we as a couple barely found a seat for two and ended up in a noisy group of Chinese, which was hard to bear on the long journey. A tour guide did not take care of you during the trip. The so-called lunch, which consisted of two sandwiches, was a culinary failure. The wineries were very well maintained and the wine tasting well organized, the explanations to the wines a bit sparse. The bus driver was very friendly. I can only recommend the tour to a limited extent.
