Ljubljana, the capital and largest city in Slovenia, is the cultural, educational, economic, political and administrative centre of the country. It is renowned for its rich history, which is reflected in the unique architectural heritage. Its old town centre is embraced by Ljubljana Castle and the river Ljubljanica where the feeling of the city is the strongest. On your trip, you will encounter ancient and modern architecture.  You will visit the old town center where you will admire the works of the Slovene architect Jože Plečnik, who took an important part in designing the Ljubljana’s most famous bridges, town squares and parks. In a little more than three decades, Jože Plečnik transformed Ljubljana from a provincial city to the capital of the Slovene nation and reshaped the urban part of the city. His influence can be felt everywhere, but mostly along the river Ljubljanica. On your trip, you will visit some of the most interesting buildings and monuments, such as the Ljubljana Town Hall, the Triple Bridge, the Shoemakers’ Bridge, Ljubljana Cathedral, the Robba Fountain, Prešeren Square, Congress Square and other attractions. The symbol of the city is the Ljubljana Dragon. It is depicted on the top of the tower of Ljubljana Castle and on the Ljubljanica - crossing Dragon Bridge. It symbolizes power, courage and greatness.

Bus driver never shut up!?@

Waste of 8 hours. 4 hours were spent in the van listening to the driver loudly talk at the tour guide. So little time to explore on our own. Boat ride was not included and there was no time to do it anyway. Totally lost my interest in booking another Viator excursion. Cancelling all future bookings. Poor time management by the tour guide cost us valuable time to explore.

Operator response

Dear Dorina Galvin, While we take every review seriously, we must point out the negative impact your actions had on the rest of the group. Not being on time for the meet-up and repeatedly deviating from the planned itinerary caused delays and inconvenience for other participants. This was a shared tour experience, where all participants are expected to follow the schedule and be respectful to others. If you find it difficult to do so, we would recommend booking a private tour in the future to ensure your needs can be accommodated without affecting others. It seems that because the tour did not proceed according to your preferences, you chose to post a negative review containing several factual inaccuracies regarding the tour’s duration, included activities, and itinerary structure. We also received multiple positive reviews for this tour on the same date from other participants in the group, demonstrating that the itinerary works well when guests follow the schedule and are respectful to others.
