Lisbon: Award-Winning Guided Walking Food Tour with Local Drinks

Description
Experience authentic Portuguese cuisine on our award-winning Lisbon Food Tour through the Baixa District, the city’s only flat neighbourhood, and one of the tastiest. With everything arranged in advance, you’ll skip the lines and dive straight into traditional tastes as your expert local guide leads you from the Tagus River through grand squares and past landmarks like Igreja de São Domingos, sharing the story of the “new Lisbon” rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake. We'll take you to cosy taverns, family-run restaurants, and bustling street-food spots. Along the way, you’ll enjoy classic petiscos, fresh seafood dishes, and iconic bites like the bifana, all paired with drinks such as Vinho Verde, local beer, and Ginjinha. And no food tour is complete without a sweet finale, so you’ll try a traditional Portuguese dessert to round off your culinary adventure before heading into the night with fellow food lovers. Eat like a local and experience Lisbon one bite at a time.

Itinerary
You’ll meet your guide and a group of fellow foodies in the Supremo Tribunal de Justiça. We’ll be holding a yellow "Carpe Diem Tours" sign.
Wander through Baixa with your expert guide to a cosy tavern celebrated for its delicious Portuguese petiscos. Here, you’ll enjoy classics like freshly grilled chouriço and bacalhau à Brás, perfectly paired with a local wine.
Next, we’ll head to a traditional Portuguese seafood restaurant to savour grilled sardines and hearty seafood rice. The highlight? Pairing it all with a crisp, refreshing glass of the iconic Vinho Verde.
After a sit-down meal, dive into Portuguese street food with the iconic bifana, a steak sandwich simmered in garlic and wine. But that’s not all! Don’t forget to save room for a crispy coxinha or croqueta, perfectly paired with an ice-cold beer.
We’ll visit a historic liquor shop, established in 1890, to sample Portugal’s beloved Ginjinha, a rich, sour cherry liqueur that perfectly primes your palate for the final sweet treat.
No food tour is complete without dessert so we’ll end on a high note with Portugal’s iconic pastel de nata, a golden, flaky custard tart that’ll leave you dreaming of Lisbon long after you’ve left.

Bruno was a super great tour guide. Loved all of the food we got to try. I would recommend not eating before so you’re hungry!
This was my first going on a food tour. Bruno was our tour guide, and he was great. He took the time to explain the history of Portugal and food that we were eating. I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Portugal.

Fantastic tour, especially at the start of our visit to Portugal and Lisbon. We tried so much food that I probably wouldn’t have in my own. My favorites were the cod cakes and cod/potatoes/egg dish. Our tour guide Bruno was fantastic- funny, entertaining, informative.
