I had a terrific experience with Windhorse from the moment I sent an enquiry email to the moment that the guide, Harry, returned me to my hotel. Yuki, who handled my query, was professional and helpful throughout and always responded promptly to my emails. Harry spoke excellent English, which made life easy. I'd previously spent four days on a Yangtse cruise with a series of allegedly English-speaking guides, all of whom were poor, so it was a joy to be able to have proper conversations with Harry. He was prompt, polite, friendly, helpful and considerate. He took me to all the places on the itinerary and some that weren't as we had time to spare. I had low expectations of the Jinding Villa hotel but it turned out to be very comfortable. I was given an upgraded room which had a terrific mountain view. The underfloor heating made the room nice and warm at night, and the staff kindly brought me an extra duvet when I said I might need it. The hotel is close to the summit, so we could walk there for sunrise, and close to cafes and restaurants for dinner if you don't want to eat in the hotel. Breakfast was fine next morning. Harry took me seamlessly from A to B to C, etc. by trains, buses, taxis and boat and was very well organised. I don't usually take organised tours, but I was delighted with this one and would happily contact Windhorse in future.
