Leonardo Da Vinci Museum Entrance Ticket

Description
“Le Macchine di Leonardo”, the world’s biggest (PRIVATE) collection of Leonardo da Vinci machines is born following the juvenile passion of Carlo (born on 25th February 1936), the founder of the Niccolai family and company. Particularly skilled craftsmen, the members of the Niccolai family have so far developed 250 different models, and 50 interactive models based on the Da Vinci codes and on historical documents using the materials of Leonardo’s time: wood, metal, ropes and fabrics. According to the unwritten rules of Florentine craftsmen, Carlo Niccolai has passed on his passion to his sons and grandsons, who, thanks to their knowledge of new technologies have enriched the collection with new models and organised more than a hundred exhibitions all over the world in the last ten years. The exhibition is 850 square meters of exposure on three floors

Itinerary
Leonardo Da Vinci machines are displayed at the Galleria Michelangelo, where the Macchiaioli used to meet, in one of the most renowned streets in Florence city centre. More than 50 models are displayed in four rooms: the largest one is dedicated to civil machines, in the second room flying machines are shown, war machines are to be found in the third and in the fourth the recently developped collection of anatomical models can be admired. Most of the models are real working machines. A documentary on Leonardo Da Vinci’s life and works is displayed on large screen monitors. The gallery has an agreement with Caffé Michelangiolo, the restaurant inside the exhibition area. At the bookshop you will find many publications and gadgets.

We arrived a little early and the staff member that greeted us was quite rude, this was a little off putting. We returned later and once inside the museum we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The amount of inventions were impressive and having an opportunity to try many of them out was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Misleadingly, we thought we had bought a ticket at the museum in Leonardo da Vinci's birthplace. So that was a different museum.
What a consummate genius with so many brilliant engineering designs. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Interesting , worth a look Would be difficult if you had children. It can get noisy when there are lots of kids
Loved it! I liked that you could explore all of Da Vinci’s inventions at your own pace. They even had samples you could try out to see them in motion.
A very nice and educational small museum. To do as a family with the children
Booked a last minute ticket for the wrong day by accident and the staff were very kind and a great help changing the ticket for me. Overall the museum was okay. Not quite what I was looking for as it was more for kids.
Buy your ticket online, it's cheaper. The museum was a nice fun walk through, very informative on Da Vinci's creations and inspirations. A lot of interactive exhibits too, good for kids and adults. Took about 30-45 min to walk through completely. Not too crowded of a place too which was nice.
It is a very interesting museum. There were lots of children on the day we visited, so be patient around the interactive models.
Highly recommended experience. Beautiful museum, very well-stocked with many interactive exhibits suitable for both adults and children.
