Can Tho: The Mekong Beyond The Floating Market

Description
Begin on the river as Cái Răng settles into its morning rhythm. Breakfast arrives from a passing boat : steaming noodle soup, strong Vietnamese coffee and the quiet theatre of river trade unfolding around you. Then the main channel falls away, giving way to narrow canals, tropical gardens and homes close enough to glimpse everyday life beside the water. Step into a family workshop where rice noodles are still shaped by hand, then continue beneath the trees to a cacao garden planted in the 1960s. Taste chocolate made here from fruit to finished bar, and hear the family story behind it. A morning that begins with a famous market and leads somewhere far more personal. Why This Journey • Explore Cai Rang Floating Market at its most authentic hour • Travel beyond the tourist routes into hidden waterways • Meet local families and discover generations-old traditions • Experience one of the Mekong's finest organic cacao farms • Travel with exceptional local hosts born and raised in the Delta

We had good luck to have this interesting, fun tour with Mai. We learned a lot about the Mekong Delta and it‘s people, had the chance to go hands on in crafting rice noodles and the opportunity to take many beautiful pictures. Our guide took care of everything around, we had local food, drinks and no need to pay anything extra. 100% recommendable!
I had a great experience on this tour; we went to see the floating market, drove the boat through small jungle canals, we also went to see how rice noodles are made and how cacao is produced. Pi is such an amazing and fun tour guide which made the experience even better!! Highly recommend!!!
It was a very interesting and enjoyable tour, thanks to Mariah, who let us taste various tropical fruits and explained the chocolate-making process very clearly, taking us to an authentic Vietnamese farm. We also visited a facility and watched the production of noodles. Highly recommended.
Me and my friend were lucky enough to experience this tour with Mai and the captain Kháng ! They were both amazing. Mai was a great tour guide and gave us so much knowledge and facts about the way of life in the Mekong Delta. It was such a beautiful tour with stop of points at the local rice noodle factory and cacao farm. We had a delicious traditional Vietnamese breakfast in the floating market as well as some fresh local fruits provided by Mai🫰🏼. We got to climb aboard one of the boats of the market to try some fresh pineapple and purchase a small token ! We were shown around the boat and where the owners lived and where stock is kept on the boat. The whole experience was such a a privilege to see and is definitely a must to when visiting the area ! Highly recommended !!
Our experience on the delta was amazing with Mekong Realism. Our guide Mai explained the workings of the floating market, the noodle factory, the cocoa farm, and especially every little anecdote about Vietnamese life, which we greatly enjoyed. I recommend our guide Mai for the excursion 1000%. It was just incredible! Thank you, Mai.
We had a wonderful tour with our guide, Mai. She was so happy and informative and told us so many things in regards to the Mekong region. The breakfast at the floating market was a great experience, and the rice noodle making and cacao farm visits were wonderful inclusions.. We highly recommend this tour.
Phuc / Tammy was an amazing, cheerful tour guide! We had a lovely morning floating along the river, seeing the marker, trying all kinds of fruit, and learning a lot about the area. With a local guide who shares a lot about the mekong delta, we really felt like we learnt a lot this morning :) would definitely recommend!
Wonderful and personal tour experience with Clara and Mr. Thanh. We went to Cai Rang floating market and had breakfast noodles and iced coffee on the water. Got to explore family boats on which they gave us fruit and let us see where they live. Next we went to try our hand at making noodles and then seeing a Cacoa farm. Clara made the experience so memorable, telling us about Vietnam history and giving us insight in to local living. We definitely made a new friend! Her English is so good as she is an English teacher. I hope to one day speak Vietnamese even half as good as her English.
Amazing experience with Tammy, she was the best tour guide we could have asked for. She turned an already amazing trip in to an unforgettable one, always attentive, approachable and savvy of every detail. Was great truly recommend it.
Getting to experience the floating market with the locals, then to see how rice noodles are made, enjoy the peacefulness of the small canals and visit a cacao plantation was the perfect planning for an early morning in Can Tho! We had the most wonderful time with our guide Mai ! She taught us so many things, not only on Can Tho and the floating market but also on Vietnam, its customs and its language. Thanks to her we are ready to have some small talk with the local people and we also have great pictures to show our family and friends! Don’t hesitate, Mai is the right guide if you wanna do this tour!
