5:30 am Our guide will pick up you and start the boat trip from Ninh Kieu wharf. Begin your journey as the sun rises, cruising the Mekong River and soaking in the morning tranquility.
6:15 am Arrive at Vietnam’s largest floating market, a bustling hub where local vendors sell fresh produce, fruits, and goods directly from their boats. This market is a lively reflection of the region's traditional way of trading, and you'll get a chance to observe this unique floating commerce up close. Pineapple Boat Stop Taste fresh, juicy pineapple and chat with local vendors about life on the river. Your visit helps support small family businesses, giving you an authentic taste of the Mekong community. You’ll also learn how the market operates and the significance of trading on water in the Mekong Delta. Breakfast on the Boat Enjoy a traditional river-based meal, a unique experience where you dine while floating among the vibrant market activity. This is a must-do in Cái Răng, where the sounds and sights of the market provide a perfect backdrop for your meal. You may also get a chance to try local dishes like noodle soup or fried rice, often served directly from the boats.
Visit a family-owned rice noodle house where artisans make colorful noodles by hand. You can try making your own noodles and learn about the family’s old techniques passed down through generations. This experience helps support local cooking traditions.
Small Canal and Nature Immersion Our boat will take you through small, peaceful canals, guided by a local expert. As you glide along, you'll hear the gentle sounds of nature and see water palms, coconut trees, and lush fruit orchards. This part of the tour lets you enjoy the quiet beauty of the environment while spotting local fruits along the way.
Enjoy a short stroll through a local village, where you’ll see daily life and traditional homes up close. Interacting with the friendly villagers gives you a deeper understanding of the Mekong culture and lifestyle.
Take a walk to a cacao plantation, where a local artisan will explain the chocolate-making process. See how cocoa is grown and turned into chocolate using traditional methods passed down through generations. Enjoy a refreshing glass of cacao milk and support the farm’s long-standing tradition. 10.00AM: Arriving at the HANDMADE chocolate farm immersion. After small canals, we will walk 10 – 15 mins to the cocoa plantation. There is one only man in Vietnam who makes chocolates with his own technique and recipe which will definitely impress you.

I did the Cai Rang Floating Market tour with Phoenix and couldn’t recommend him enough! He was incredibly sweet, friendly, and accommodating from start to finish. I didn’t reply to his messages until the very last minute, but he still went out of his way to make everything work without making me feel like a hassle. He was so kind and patient, and made the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. If you’re thinking about doing this tour, definitely ask for Phoenix—you’ll be in great hands!

Very interesting tour with Henry who was very chatty and was answering all our questions. Food was lovely, and there were a few interesting stops, the best one being the rice noodle factory. Thank you to Henry and our wonderful boat driver!

Excellent trip by boat to the floating market in Cai Rang, followed by the visit of a traditional rice noodle manufacturer and a cacao farm. It was our second trip with our Guide Phoenix and it was again a pleasure. Would recommend it any day and to anybody who wants to see the many beautiful sides of Can Tho.

Our tour guide Phoenix was friendly and explained us all the insights of each spot. We have visit the floating market, a cacao farm, rice nudle manufactoring and many other places. Especially the Pho supe and the fresh orange juice, served from another boat, at the floating market was a great experience

Awesome 1 day Mekong Delta/Cai Rang markets tour, expertly told by Jane our guide. You are immersed into life on the river, eating breakfast, having Vietnamese coffee & visiting a family to see what life on the river is really like. Additional visits to community based rice noodle factory & cacao farm were really informative and the chocolate was some of the best we’ve ever tasted. This tour was easily one of the highlights of our time in Vietnam. From start to finish, it offered an authentic and immersive glimpse into life along the Mekong Delta. We started early at the Cai Rang Floating Market, which is absolutely worth the early wake-up. Watching the river come alive with boats full of fresh produce, local traders, and steaming bowls of pho for breakfast being served on the water was a unique and vibrant experience. It felt genuinely local rather than overly touristy. Next we were taken through a small hidden canals. These quieter waterways offered a peaceful contrast to the bustling market. The rice noodle (hủ tiếu) making stop was fascinating. It was great to see the process up close and learn how much care goes into something so commonly eaten and added a deeper appreciation for Vietnamese cuisine. The visit to the cacao farm was another unexpected highlight. Seeing how cacao is grown and processed, and of course tasting fresh chocolate products, was both educational and fun. Last stop we stepped onto one of the market boats, where we got a glimpse into how people actually live on the river. We shared freshly cut pineapple sprinkled with chilli salt — simple but incredibly tasty — while learning about daily life on the boat. It was such a genuine, human experience and made the whole trip feel even more special and personal. Overall, the tour felt well-paced, authentic, and thoughtfully put together. Our guide Phong, was knowledgeable and friendly, sharing insights into local culture and daily life that made the experience even richer. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to go beyond the usual tourist spots and experience the real Mekong Delta.
