Langkawi, the jewel of Kedah, derives its name from the red backed Eagle which rules the skies above the island. Legend has it that the ‘Lang’ comes from the Malay word ‘helang’, which means Eagle, and the ‘Kawi’ comes from the word meaning marble. The convocation of Eagles flying high in the sky and a land full of marble do lend some credibility to this legend. Dataran Lang conveniently called as the Eagle Square, celebrates these majestic birds of Langkawi. It is an iconic statue located on the southern part of Pulau Langkawi, on the Kuah Jetty. The Eagle Square has an impressive 12 metre tall statue of a red backed Eagle standing on a blue star shaped platform. It is surrounded by forest covered mountains on one side and the open Andaman Sea on the other. With its wings spread, the Eagle of Dataran Lang looks ready to soar into the sky.

Durian Perangin Waterfall is a hidden gem in Langkawi, Malaysia, tucked away in the island’s northeastern region near Tanjung Rhu. This enchanting 14-tiered waterfall cascades through lush rainforest, offering visitors a serene escape with its crystal-clear pools and refreshing natural showers. The lower tiers are easily accessible, making them ideal for swimming and picnics, while the more adventurous can hike up to discover the secluded upper falls. For those seeking extra excitement, ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) tours are available at an additional cost, letting travelers zoom through rugged jungle trails and scenic paths around the waterfall area. This thrilling add-on combines the tranquility of nature with an adrenaline-fueled adventure, perfect for explorers who want the best of both worlds. Whether you're unwinding by the falls or racing through the wilderness on an ATV, Durian Perangin promises an unforgettable Langkawi experience.

Tanjung Rhu Beach, one of Langkawi’s most pristine shores, is famed for its powdery white sands, swaying casuarina trees, and breathtaking views of limestone islands dotting the Andaman Sea. This tranquil beach, part of Langkawi’s UNESCO Global Geopark, offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. For travelers looking to explore the island’s rich natural heritage, a mangrove boat ride (at your own cost) is a must-do experience. Glide through the ancient mangrove forests of Kilim Geoforest Park, a UNESCO-listed site, where you’ll encounter exotic wildlife like eagles, macaques, and otters, while marveling at dramatic karst formations and hidden lagoons. Whether you’re sunbathing on the serene shores or discovering the wonders of Langkawi’s Geopark by boat, Tanjung Rhu promises an unforgettable escape into nature’s wonders.

Langkawi Sky Bridge is a 125-metre (410 ft) curved pedestrian cable-stayed bridge in Malaysia, completed in 2005.[3] The bridge deck is 660 metres (2,170 ft) above sea level at the peak of Gunung Mat Cincang on Pulau Langkawi, the main island of the Langkawi archipelago in Kedah.[4] The Langkawi Sky Bridge can be reached by first taking the Langkawi Cable Car to the Top Station, where an inclined lift called SkyGlide takes visitors from the Top Station down to the bridge.[5] The bridge was closed in July 2012 for maintenance and upgrading. The reopening was put off several times, but it partially reopened in February 2015.[6] The bridge is now fully accessible.

Great Day in Langwaki

Our driver picked us up on time and was very willing to do whatever we wanted for the day. He made some great suggestions such as going to see the big eagle and the waterfalls. After that we went on a fabulous mangrove tour and then had lunch on a floating restaurant. It was our fault that we were running a bit late, but he still got us to the cable car so we got to go up and see the magnificent views. I highly recommend this tour agency.

Cate and Mark Malouf

We had a wonderful day today. Booked for us to have a trip around Langkawi and as it was only us we had the lovely Abu in a private taxi. He was extremely informative, flexible and accommodating. We had alot of fun chatting and learnt alot. We saw the Durian Perangin Waterfalls, Langkawi Eagle, Tanjung Rhu beach, Oriental village and I did cable car and skybridge (left husband on solid ground 🤣), felt bad as we ran a bit overtime and left Abu waiting but I communicated through Whatsapp, I got caught out waiting for lift back. I feel the price was excellent given what we squeezed in to the day. Abu was extremely receptive to questions, encouraged us to ask and knew alot about everything. Highly recommend if all guides are as fun as Abu! 😇😇😊😊✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Operator cancelled 12 hours beforehand

Tour Operator messaged that insufficient customers had booked so my trip was cancelled unless I paid a further $40 !

Operator response

Yes because we inform you earlier that 1 person must choose a car. You choose a bus which is for 20 person . If you are 20 person than only you choose a bus. Viator already refund you and why you still barking

Unclear tour program

Driver was Not a guide, and tour had no program. It was confusing when Driver drops you at a place and another driver picks you up to take you to original Driver. We booked 4-6 seater car, however it wasn't. Driver should explain things better.

Operator response

Im sorry for that but i can see you are very happy to do the boat tour with the driver.... Tq you as well for tipping our driver..
