Itinerary
To truly experience Lake Tahoe, take a trip aboard the M.S. Dixie II, a paddle-wheel boat that plies the lake’s stunning, cobalt-blue waters.
Fannette is the only island to be found in all of Lake Tahoe. It is located in beautiful Emerald Bay on the west shore of the lake. A sparsely timbered, brush covered upthrust of granite that rises 150 feet above the water, Fannette Island was not always known by that name. During the past 100 years it has been known as Coquette, Fannette, Baranoff, Dead Man's, Hermit's, and Emerald Isle. Fannette was the name that finally stuck.
With its rugged shoreline and blue-green water, Emerald Bay is one of the most photographed places in the world. Vikingsholm, a replica of a Scandinavian castle (800 A.D.), is part of the park. The building is considered one of the finest examples of Scandinavian
Directly from our mile-long sandy, pine-tree covered shores, there is something for everyone at Zephyr Cove Marina.

This is a nice way to cruise the lake. We went on the 11:00 am cruise to Emerald Bay on the Tahoe Paradise. Parking is $12 so if you want to make the most of your trip and your money don’t forget to pack your swimmers and beach towels so you can spend some time on the beach after!!
They switched to a smaller boat which diminished the experience. They did provide free lunch though which was delicious.
Our Emerald Bay cruise was top notch? The boat was extremely comfortable with inside and outside options. We were offered a delicious buffet lunch as well!
You may not get the paddle boat that they advertise. We were very disappointed that we did not get to ride on the Dixie paddle boat.
Bartender super nice. Boat ride relaxing. I would order food early, at least nachos anyway, they were kinda crushed and very little chicken on them. The early ones we saw looked amazing!
Nice trip. Food and beverages onboard. Great narrations about the area. Nice excursion with the family.
Bring your swimsuits and beach gear. I made the mistake of leaving it at home and could have combined a swim with an excellent tour.
Slow boat of heaven and comfort! The history and Tahoe information in between the music was great! Beautiful way to enjoy Lake Tahoe!
If you miss your boat just call and they will let you reschedule. This happened to us and there were no questions asked.
Such a lovely excursion! We loved everything about this day cruise! The views were spectacular and our lunch and cocktails (the bartender was awesome!) were great. We also really enjoyed the narration - highly informative. What a perfect way to see and learn about beautiful Lake Tahoe!
