Absolutely loved this tour with our guide Andy. He told us about the culture & history. His knowledge was endless. We also enjoyed a local lunch with Andy advising us of what was best & it was perfect. Weather was extremely hot & we needed to finish early which was not a problem & we relaxed in a/c on our return to the port. Excellent service.
Grand Palace is amazing, well worth a visit but be prepared for crowds. The heat was a bit much for us so we had lunch at Jim Thomson's house and it was delicious, then we headed back to our ship.
This was a five star travel experience. Seeing Bangkok through the eyes of our guide was thought provoking and interesting. Enjoyed very much the historical and archeological facts and figures. The driver was excellent too, finding the best routes through a very busy Bangkok. A fascinating day. Thankyou.
We were picked up at the port by a driver who spoke no English. We messaged the tour manager who told us that we would meet the guide in Bangkok. The drive from the port to Bangkok is nearly 3 hours. The tour guide was very good and had arranged lunch at a nice restaurant and booked a tour at the Jim Thompson house. We visited many temples and tourist sites…. At 6pm we were exhausted and were driven back to the ship. Arrived back there at 9pm in time for an 11:30pm departure. A long and exhausting day…. If we visit Bangkok again, we will plan to stay in a local hotel and explore the city over a few days… Much more relaxing in a crazy, congested city…
