Our Osaka tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan, thanks to Takuma and Kiyoto. We were part of a group of 15 people, and despite the size of our group, they made the entire day feel organized, engaging, and personal. From the moment we met Takuma, his enthusiasm was contagious. He was cheerful, energetic, and genuinely excited to share his city with us. His passion for Osaka made every stop even more enjoyable, especially our visit to Osaka Castle, where he brought the castle’s fascinating history to life with engaging stories and interesting facts. For lunch, Takuma and Kiyoto introduced us to a fantastic local restaurant where we enjoyed okonomiyaki, one of Osaka’s signature dishes. It was absolutely delicious and another experience we never would have discovered on our own. Their food recommendations throughout the day made our visit even more memorable. After lunch, we explored the bustling shopping district, where Takuma pointed out local favorites, shared helpful recommendations, and made sure we experienced more than just the typical tourist attractions. His upbeat personality kept everyone smiling, and his local knowledge helped us appreciate Osaka’s unique charm. Kiyoto was wonderful as always, making sure everything ran smoothly and that everyone in our group was comfortable. Together, he and Takuma made the perfect team—friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and genuinely passionate about sharing Japan with their guests. What impressed us most was how effortlessly they managed a group of 15 while still making everyone feel included. They answered every question with patience, kept the day moving at a comfortable pace, and created an experience that was both educational and a lot of fun. If you’re looking for guides who are warm, engaging, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about showing you the best of Osaka, we wholeheartedly recommend Takuma and Kiyoto. They turned a day of sightseeing into one of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip. Thank you both for your kindness, your laughter, and for creating memories our group will cherish for years to come. We hope to see you again the next time we’re lucky enough to visit Japan!
Our day with Kiyoto was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Japan. Traveling as a family of seven—including three children and two grandparents—we appreciated how thoughtful, patient, and accommodating he was with everyone in our group. Before our tour even began, Kiyoto took the time to thoughtfully customize an itinerary that allowed my parents to experience Kyoto’s most iconic sights without the long, strenuous walks. His attention to detail and genuine care for our family’s comfort meant so much to us. During the day, we visited Fushimi Inari Shrine, where we admired the breathtaking Senbon Torii from an easily accessible viewpoint, allowing my parents to experience one of Kyoto’s most famous landmarks without the challenging hike. We also explored the beautiful Hōkan-ji Temple (Yasaka Pagoda) and wandered through the charming streets of Ninenzaka, where every corner felt like a postcard. For lunch, Kiyoto introduced us to a cozy local omurice restaurant that we never would have discovered on our own. It ended up being one of our favorite meals of the entire trip! It was clear that Kiyoto put just as much thought into introducing us to memorable local food as he did into showing us Kyoto’s famous sights. From the moment we met, Kiyoto made us feel less like tourists and more like friends he was excited to share his beautiful city with. His knowledge of Kyoto’s history, culture, and traditions was exceptional, and he shared everything in such an engaging and meaningful way. What stood out most was Kiyoto’s genuine kindness and warmth. He answered every question with patience, made sure everyone—from our children to our parents—was comfortable, and tailored the day to our family’s interests and pace. We left feeling like we hadn’t just seen Kyoto—we had truly experienced it. Thank you, Kiyoto, for creating memories our family will cherish forever. We hope to return to Japan someday, and when we do, we’d love to explore more with you. If you’re looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, thoughtful, personable, and truly passionate about sharing Kyoto, we couldn’t recommend Kiyoto more highly.
Had a great tour with Kiyoto in Kyoto and Osaka! Highly recommended! He is a very kind and fun tour guide with all the local knowledge! Such a nice guy.
So much to say - absolutely highly recommend. Kei is the absolute best. One of the kindest, most knowledgeable, and thoughtful strangers I have ever spent 7 straight hours with. He was very focused on what we wanted to do, but he got to know us as the trip progressed and took a couple of side stops that were absolutely unforgettable. He even went out of his way to suggest things for us the rest of our time in Kyoto - sent us links - offered to make us reservations with a friend at a local restaurant - just wonderful. I am sure there are several amazing guides, but Kei is an absolute 5 star guide. Great day - so glad we did this! Thank you, Kei.
Thank you so much for such a heartwarming review. Spending those seven hours with you was a true highlight for me as well. I loved getting to know your preferences as we walked, and I am thrilled that our little detours turned into unforgettable memories. Helping with your remaining time in Kyoto, including the restaurant recommendations, was my absolute pleasure. You are no longer strangers to me but friends who share a special connection to this city. I hope your travels bring you back to Kyoto one day.
We had a very fun day with Kiyoto. He’s very knowledgeable and friendly and we enjoyed conversation on a variety of topics. He tailored the experience to make it a perfect fit for our family. Our 15 year old boys especially enjoyed a trip to the monkey park. We would recommend this tour to anyone. We learned and saw so much more than we would have trying to do it all on our own! And the video he made as a keepsake from our tour was a great bonus!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was an absolute pleasure hosting your family in Kyoto, and I am thrilled that you had such a fun day exploring together. I really enjoyed our conversations on so many different topics. Seeing the boys have such a great time at the monkey park was a highlight for me as well, and tailoring the route to fit your family perfectly made the day special. I am so glad the keepsake video brings back good memories of everything you learned and saw. I hope to welcome you all back to Japan in the future!

We had an amazing day in Kyoto with Kiyoto! He took the time to customize our tour based on our interests and even adjusted it to avoid places we had already visited. Every stop was fantastic, and we got to experience a side of Kyoto we never would have found on our own. Kiyoto was knowledgeable, personable, and a lot of fun to spend the day with. If you’re looking for a guide in Kyoto, we highly recommend him!
Thank you so much for your amazing review! Hosting you in Kyoto was an absolute pleasure, and I am thrilled that our customized route brought you to some hidden gems you enjoyed. Designing the day around your specific interests and adjusting it to show you new places is exactly how I love to guide. I had a wonderful time sharing those unique sides of the city with you, and our conversations made the day truly special for me too. I hope you carry fond memories of Kyoto with you, and I look forward to welcoming you back someday!
Kiyoto was a fantastic guide, so friendly and informative. We had the best time. After taking us to the temple with thousands of red gates, which I think all tourists visit, he then took us to quieter shrines off the beaten track. They were wonderful places, so calming and quiet and the gardens were amazing. Kiyoto also made a short video of our experience without us realising that knowing. So that was a lovely surprise. He even took us to a place where we could buy presents that our grandchildren had asked for.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was an absolute pleasure guiding you through Kyoto and sharing both the iconic sights and my personal favorite hidden spots. I am thrilled you enjoyed the contrast between the vibrant red gates and the peaceful gardens off the beaten track. Capturing those moments on video was a joy for me, and I am glad it became a special memory of our time together. I also hope your grandchildren love the gifts we found. Please come back to Kyoto whenever you wish to explore more hidden gems. You are always welcome here! ...perhaps with your grandchildren!!
