We had a wonderful tour with Ceci. He has managed to fully immerse us in Japanese culture. 100x100 recommended if you want to know the most beautiful corners of Kyoto. Plus it makes with iPhone almost professional photos. Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We are thrilled to hear that you had such a positive experience with us.
Amazing and well experienced
Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We are thrilled to hear that you had such a positive experience with us.
After a disappointingly impersonal and rushed guided group tour in Tokyo, we took a different approach in Kyoto and hired a private guide to walk us through the sprawling landscape of Fushimi Inari, the shrine of a thousand gates. Our guide, Vincent, certainly delivered. He tailored his explanations to our specific interests and tirelessly answered our myriad questions ranging from the heavily intertwined religious traditions of Shintoism and Japanese Buddhism to living conditions in Japan (e.g. work, taxes, government programs etc). As we had visited many sights and museums prior to the tour, Vincent's explanations allowed us to fill in a number of blanks and connect the dots between previously haphazard bits of knowledge. First in passing and later more deliberately, we also got to know the person guiding us: a globetrotter-come-Japanese-resident, former and perhaps future massage teacher, a seasoned guide whose dry sense of humor seemed like a cracked coat of paint through which boyhood dreams could still be glimpsed on occasion - in short, a real character. From the bottom of the shrine all the way to the top and back, time flew for us, so we were shocked to hear that most tourists opt out of the shrine's higher portions. We would strongly recommend that you follow our footsteps into the calmer, much less crowded upper shrines. At one point during our three-hour tour, we asked Vincent for his thoughts on AI and tourism. While he suspects that tourists will eventually opt for AI guides over human ones, we aren't so sure: our great experience at Fushimi Inari seems quite inextricable from the unique person that showed us around - Merci Vincent !

Hiking Inari and seeing the gates was worth it. The guide was knowledgeable, entertaining and energetic.
We're so grateful for your 5-star review! Your positive feedback means a lot to us.
Fushimi Inari has been on my bucket list for the longest time and I'm so glad I got to do this with TripGuru! My guide Tashika was excellent! Accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable, I could go on and on. Definitely the highlight of the entire tour and made my visit 100 times better!
The perfect trip for me. The pace of this tour was just right and the itinerary covered everything I wanted to do. I chose option A with the hiking and it was great. Nobumasa our guide was very patient and nice, taking lots of photos of us and carrying our things. Overall, a very memorable experience!
