Itinerary
Our tour starts with transportation from Krakow, either from your specified hotel or a meeting point of your choice. Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum is located in Oswiecim, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away (65 km). All of our drivers hold the necessary EU certifications for passenger transport. A friendly, English-speaking group leader will be available to assist you whenever needed. Upon arriving in Oswiecim, you'll have a brief break to grab a coffee or explore the outdoor exhibits. Afterward, you'll be introduced to a professional local guide, licensed by the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.
Begin your tour by walking through the gate of Auschwitz I, the first camp, initially established as a concentration camp for Polish citizens arrested after Germany annexed the country in 1939. You'll pass under the infamous sign "Arbeit Macht Frei" (Work Makes You Free). This portion of the tour typically lasts two hours, during which you'll use a headset to hear your guide clearly. The group size is limited to 30 people, as per the Museum's regulations, ensuring a comfortable and accessible experience for all participants. Explore the original wooden barracks, fortified walls, barbed wire fences, gas chambers, and crematoria, which together leave a haunting impression and allow visitors to grasp the immense scale of the Holocaust.
After visiting the first camp, you'll have a short break of up to 15 minutes. Following this, we will take you to the second part of the tour—Birkenau (Auschwitz II), located just 3 minutes away. Birkenau, the largest camp, was built and operated with the sole purpose of making Europe "Judenrein" (free of Jews). Your guide will continue the powerful narrative at Birkenau, located in the village of Brzezinka. Constructed in 1941 under the orders of SS commander Heinrich Himmler, the camp could hold around 90,000 prisoners. You’ll hear harrowing accounts of the brutal living conditions, the cruel selection process, and the pseudo-scientific medical experiments carried out by Nazi doctors, including Josef Mengele.
At the end of the tour, you won’t be rushed. You’ll have at short break to simply rest. After another 1 hour and 15 minutes of travel, you will be taken to a designated address in Krakow.

Very good and emptional experience. Shout out to Krystian, the bus driver, very friendly and always ready to help us.
Good value for money guides explained everything, Weronika was great!
Our guide Mihal was really friendly and a good talker. The whole experience is something that’s worth doing as it is one of the most important lessons from pur wourlz history. Recommend it even though it can be tough for some pople. Thank to Mihal everything was smooth and well explained. From pick-up from Krakow down to the last detail during our tour :))
All very nice and well organized. And Krystian was a very good driver and partner!! Thanks.
The driver and guide, Kryzskiek, was very polite and conducted the tour in a very engaging way. He made the experience at Auschwitz interesting and pleasant—as much as is possible in such a place.
Walker is an amazing guide. The tour was paced well with appropriate breaks. Walker was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. The tour was very emotional for me and when I needed to take a break away from it, was very accommodating. Highly recommend this tour.
Amazing experience, the guide did a great job
Really well organised and responsive operator . Booking was easy . Kept in touch to inform of the time . Meeting was smooth . Kris our guide was thoughtful , informative and knowledgable . He was very organised .
Very disappointing experience today with Krakow Direct who advertise as saying headsets to hear the guide clearly. This was not our experience and we really struggled to understand what the guide was saying. We brought it to the attention of Krakow Direct who said that it was my own fault as I wear hearing aids and I hadn’t advised the company in advance. I’m sure it would have been good with perfect hearing and an ability to run after the guide like a 16 year old but alas- maybe we’re getting too old/disabled to join in anymore.
Kris was an excellent host/tour guide. Polite & friendly, and bang on time schedule wise. The trip itself was my second to the camps and he made it very interesting and informative.
