Itinerary

Admission included90 min

Step into one of Kraków’s most visited museums — Schindler’s Enamel Factory, where history comes alive through powerful exhibitions and expert storytelling. This is not a simple biographical museum, but a comprehensive journey through the years of Nazi occupation, showing how war transformed the city and the lives of its people. With a licensed expert guide, you’ll skip the long ticket lines and explore the exhibition “Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939–1945.” Housed in the former enamel factory of Oskar Schindler, the museum focuses not only on his story, but above all on the daily experiences of Kraków’s Jewish and non-Jewish residents during the war. As you move through the galleries, you’ll encounter original artifacts, photographs, and immersive reconstructions. Much of the exhibition unfolds in a series of narrow, dimly lit rooms, deliberately designed to make visitors feel confined — echoing the fear, pressure, and uncertainty that dominated life under Nazi rule.

Admission not included15 min

The first stop on the walking tour of the Kraków Ghetto is the remains of the Ghetto Walls — a stark reminder of the confinement that once separated its residents from the rest of the city.

20 min

From there you continue to Ghetto Heroes Square, the heart of the ghetto, where deportations to extermination camps took place. Today the square is marked by the symbolic Chair Memorial, each chair representing lives lost.

Admission not included20 min

Across the square stands the Under the Eagle Pharmacy, where Tadeusz Pankiewicz and his staff courageously aided ghetto residents, preserving medicine and hope.

Very good

At the Schindler factory, our guide was Dominica, which enriched the activity. The machinery, pavilions and items from the original factory no longer exist. The upper floor was erected after the Second World War. On this tour, visitors learn about the life of the Jews of Krakow before, during and after the Nazi domination, and a bit of the bitter period under the communist yoke, which followed the war and oppressed all of Poland. The visit to the ghetto lasted an hour, and was less interesting.

Operator response

Great Guide - Good Tour

Lovely tour - could have spent a lot more time at the Schindler Factory Museum, but the guide made the most of the allotted time. Guide was very knowledgeable and was clearly enthusiastic about the subject. The ghetto tour was much lower value - Krakow has not preserved the history or done much to recognize that region (yet?)

Operator response

Thank you very much for your thoughtful feedback! 😊 We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that the guide’s knowledge and enthusiasm made the Schindler Factory Museum experience so engaging, even within the limited time available. We also appreciate your honest comments regarding the ghetto tour. Feedback like yours is very valuable and helps us understand different perspectives on the experience and expectations of our guests. Thank you again for sharing your impressions! Best regards, Maciej

A must-do.

The museum is very good, and the explanations from the guide are excellent. The visit to the ghetto is less interesting because only a small piece of wall remains. An exhibition with photos and films would be more useful to imagine the history.

Operator response

Merci beaucoup pour votre retour et vos remarques constructives. Nous sommes ravis que le musée et les explications de la guide vous aient plu 😊 Nous prenons également note de votre suggestion concernant la visite du ghetto et les supports visuels. Bien cordialement, Maciej

✔️ Bucket List fulfilled

Please ensure firstly that you bring ID with you, unfortunately a couple on our tour were not notified by their travel agent and had to buy tickets again. Schindlers Factory is now a museum about the Nazi occupation of Krakow, and the tour takes place around the old Admin building, a fantastic insight into Nazi occupied Krakow which touches on Schindler but isn’t primarily about him. Very moving though, the second part of the tour around the Jewish Getto was thought provoking but very limited on actually seeing the “getto” has time and redevelopment has taken place and of course the nazi’s destroyed a lot to hide their actions. A very enlightening, educational and enjoyable tour.
