This is an excellent experience. The guided tour is well done and can really be helpful to someone without a lot of knowledge about horseracing or Churchill Downs. The Kentucky Derby film in the round is the best thing there! The rest of the museum is full of information that will delight anyone!

Our first time visiting and it was amazing to be there even in the off season. A place I’ve seen many times on TV but to be there was a great experience. Highly recommend.
Thanks! We love celebrating Derby Day, every day! There's 152 years of amazing history to share.
Plan on going when the museum opens or shortly after so you can watch the horses being trained 🐎. Plan on staying at least two hours.
Thanks! We agree with the two hours -- typically that gives you enough time to explore both floors of exhibits for one hour, and spend the other hour going on tour and watching our 360° movie. There's also time you may want to add in for the cafe & our KDM Store. It sounds like you got to see some horses training on the track during your visit -- super fun! Thanks again!
Great tour, our guide was very informative and loved being able to go trackside. We enjoyed exploring the museum independently. Extra bonus for us was going to Churchill Downs to watch the races. Great day.
