K’Gari (Fraser Island) all day adventure

We had a great day visiting K’Gari (Frazer Island). Pick up was timely, crossing smooth and we got to see bottle nosed dolphins (bonus). Due to tide times we ventured through the subtropical forest to the beach highway to visit a freshwater creek, ship wreck before lunch. Lunch was plentiful and delicious. Taylah was lovely and very knowledgeable about the history, animals and plants and Mike was a good considerate driver, having to navigate one way passing points and bumpy sand dunes. It was interesting and beautiful, I would highly recommend it.

Island time

Sit at the front of the bus. Wear shorts or pants you can roll up or get wet. It’s still warm enough to swim (if you are 20 something).

Love the island, love the guide!

We did a 1 day tour and Dean was an awesome tour guide, despite being just 9 months into the job, we could tell he really loved what he was doing and the passion came through in all the storytelling during the entire tour! The (granddad) jokes may have been cold at times, but greatly appreciated, and he created a very friendly environment for everyone to chat and ask questions. The island itself is amazing as well, and we even got the opportunity to take a scenic flight (separate payment) midway through the tour and saw some whales! Made some new friends along the way and the 4WD bus was able to accommodate all 30+ of us really well.

Operator response

Thank you for your fantastic review! We’re so glad you loved both the island and your day with Dean. His passion and sense of humour really make the experience special! It’s great you enjoyed the scenic flight and even spotted whales. Sounds like a truly memorable day—we hope to welcome you back again!

K’gari Island Day Trip

We had an amazing day on the K’gari (Fraser Island) day tour and would 100% do it again. Our guide, Pirate Pete, was exceptional throughout the entire trip. Not only was he incredibly friendly and entertaining, but he was also very knowledgeable and educational, sharing fascinating information about the island’s history, wildlife, and unique environment. What really stood out was Pete’s commitment to his guests. We missed the initial bus, and he went out of his way to come back for us and make sure we got on the ferry. That level of customer service made a huge difference and immediately put us at ease. The whole experience was well organised, and Pete’s passion for K’gari really made the tour special. We saw some incredible sights, learned so much along the way, and had a fantastic time from start to finish. Thanks Pete!

Operator response

We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back for another adventure!

Best Tour Ever!

My husband & I did this tour while visiting the area in February & can declare it to be one of the best tours we've ever done! Our day began with a 7:45 am pick up in a large, comfortable bus at our hotel, then driven to the Ferry which was 10 minutes away & introduced to Steve our wonderful, patient, kind & very knowledgeable tour guide. We boarded the Ferry for the trip to K'Gari & basked in the heat & sunshine (very nice February day) the whole way to the Island which was about one hour away. Once on K'Gari we were loaded into a 4 wheel drive bus & our great adventure began... The bus ride is an experience all by itself as it was a wild, bouncy & fun drive around the Island in this machine. You are seat belted in, so just enjoy the ride & take in the scenery along the route. We stopped & hiked to historic Central Station through the rain forest, over boardwalks with crystal clear water running below them, along with flora & fauna of all types. We then were driven to the beach where we toured up & down taking in all that there was to see in that area, we also saw a young Dingo laying in the sand above the beach which was a highlght of the trip. Then we were taken to the K'Gari Beach Resort where we were treated to an amazing, buffet lunch. Then we were off again to the beach where we drove to Eli Creek to have a float or just simply to walk through the beautiful creek to cool off. There were a LOT of other people here as the beach area was full of vehicles, so finding a tube was almost impossible in order to actually float in the creek, but it was still enjoyable. We then got back on the bus & were driven to the Maheno Shipwreck where we got to wander & check out what remains of this historic ship. Very interesting! Then onto Lake McKenzie & it's crystal clear water & soft, silica sand. We enjoyed ourselves swimming & relaxing for an hour before boarding the bus for the final leg of the journey back to the Ferry. We had time for a quick drink at the little bar on the pier before the Ferry left. This was an incredible experience, with a great company & we would highly recommend it to anyone who is able to do it.

Operator response

It sounds like you experienced so many of K’gari’s highlights, and we’re so glad Steve’s knowledge and care made it even more special. We truly appreciate the recommendation and hope to welcome you back again!
