Great, informative tour with courteous staff who actively engaged with the passengers. Be aware that the top deck gets incredibly windy. If you are sensitive to high speeds or heights, I highly recommend sitting on the lower level, as the top can feel a bit nerve-wracking when the bus moves quickly
It was a full city tour highlighting all of what Pittsburgh has to offer. Our tour guide was on top of her game with both historic facts and lots of dad jokes when we were stuck in traffic. Nicely done!
I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I felt like I had to for this one. As someone who has lived in Pittsburgh my entire life, this tour honestly made me sad. I kept thinking about all the visitors who come here excited to learn about our city, only to leave without hearing much of its incredible history. Instead, the tour felt more like sponsored advertisements than a history tour. When we drove through the Strip District, for example, the guide mostly pointed out stores and talked about what was on their menus instead of sharing the history of one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic neighborhoods. What really surprised me was how outdated some of the information was. The guide spent time talking about restaurants like Fat Head’s and Joe’s Crab Shack as if they were still there, even though they’ve been closed. It made me wonder how often this tour is actually updated. Pittsburgh has such an amazing story to tell—its steel industry, the three rivers, the immigrant communities that built its neighborhoods, and so much more. None of that really came through. Instead, it felt like we were just driving from restaurant to restaurant. I truly hope the company updates this tour. Our city deserves better, and so do the people who come here wanting to experience what makes Pittsburgh so special.
Thank you for sharing your perspective. We’re sorry the tour did not match your expectations, especially as someone who clearly cares deeply about Pittsburgh and its history. However, we do feel your review misrepresents the experience we provide. Our tour follows a professionally written, copyrighted script that covers Pittsburgh’s history, architecture, neighborhoods, bridges, sports, industry, immigrant roots, and cultural development over the course of approximately 2.5 hours. Thousands of guests each year compliment our guides specifically for how informative and entertaining the tour is. Regarding the Strip District, there are no “sponsored advertisements” on our tour. We do not receive payment from the retail shops or restaurants mentioned. That area is one of the most commonly asked-about sections of the city, and guests constantly ask our guides where to eat, shop, and explore after they get off the bus. Because of that, our guides point out many popular businesses, local favorites, and food spots. If you listened as we turned onto Smallman we cover in great detail the neighborhood’s history and transformation from it's industrial roots in 1837 and produce terminal district into the destination it is today. We point out the architecture and show where the Pope has been. We talk all about Andrew Carnegie, George Westinghouse and the importance of ALCOA. We are sorry if you missed all of that, but it is important and included on every tour. We understand it's a ton of information, and sometimes you may not hear it all. But please do not say things that are untrue. As for businesses that have closed, Pittsburgh changes constantly, and occasionally a guide may reference a location that was previously well known in the city. These places and have a history in our city as well! That said, the core content of the tour is updated regularly and continues to evolve. We certainly respect that not every tour is for every person, but the overwhelming majority of our guests — including many lifelong Pittsburgh residents — leave feeling they learned a great deal about the city and enjoyed the experience. Maybe you should take the tour again, because it feels like you missed a great deal!
Very knowledgeable and fun tour guide and driver. Would recommend this tour for anyone who wants to know the large sights and little trivia about Pittsburgh.
We had not experienced Pittsburgh before yesterday. What an amazing city! Our driver Colin and the host who pointed out all the sights (can’t remember her name..) were great. So much wonderful architecture, parks, history (think Heinz, Carnegie and Mr. Roger’s) to explore. Highly recommended!
Good Value. Tour operator and guide were great. A little misleading to say the bus has air conditioning.
Likely will fill up downstairs if it rains and if standing there you will not see anything, I gave up and was drenched.
Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry the weather didn't cooperate during your visit. Unfortunately, rain is something we can't control, and when it does rain, many guests understandably choose to sit on the covered lower level to stay dry. For guests who still choose the open top deck in the rain, getting wet is unavoidable. We always recommend checking the forecast before your tour and bringing rain gear if showers are expected. We also have rain ponchos available for purchase in our gift shop for anyone who wants to enjoy the top deck despite the weather. We appreciate you riding with us and hope you'll join us again on a sunnier Pittsburgh day!
The bus driver& tour golden were fantastic. They went out of their way for us seniors who walked slow. The guide was informative& excellant.
