Itinerary

Pass by

8:30 AM — Departure from Beirut Your guide meets you at your Beirut hotel and heads north through the Dog River valley — its canyon walls carved with inscriptions left by Egyptian pharaohs, Assyrian kings, and Roman emperors — toward Jeita Grotto.

Admission included90 min

Descend into one of the most spectacular cave systems in the world — a UNESCO tentative World Heritage Site and a top-five finalist in the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Two interconnected limestone caves stretching over 9 kilometres beneath the Lebanese mountains — the upper cave explored on foot through a soaring cathedral of stalactites and stalagmites up to 8 metres tall, and the lower cave navigated by silent electric boat along an underground river through chambers of extraordinary natural beauty. One of the most visited and most memorable attractions in all of Lebanon.

30 min

At the top of the cable car, visit the iconic bronze statue of Our Lady of Lebanon — standing 8.5 metres tall at 650 metres above sea level, arms outstretched toward the Mediterranean below. One of the most recognisable religious monuments in the Middle East, the shrine is surrounded by the Maronite Basilica and neighbouring churches that form one of Lebanon's most important Christian pilgrimage complexes. Your guide shares the spiritual significance and history of this beloved Lebanese landmark.

Admission not included15 min

Board the famous Harissa Téléférique cable car at the Jounieh seafront and ride up 650 metres above sea level to the mountain sanctuary above — one of the most exhilarating and photogenic experiences in Lebanon. The aerial views over Jounieh Bay, the sparkling Mediterranean, and the Lebanese mountain ranges on the ascent are among the most spectacular in the country.

Admission included45 min

Arrive in Byblos — continuously inhabited for over 7,000 years and one of the oldest cities on earth. The 12th-century Crusader castle was built from recycled Phoenician and Roman stones and contains layer upon layer of civilisation within its walls — Neolithic settlements, Bronze Age temples, Phoenician royal tombs, and Roman colonnaded streets all visible in a single site. Byblos gave the world its alphabet and its name gave us the word Bible. Your guide brings 7,000 years of history to life.

60 min

️Lunch in Byblos — waterfront restaurant Enjoy a included lunch at one of Byblos's waterfront restaurants overlooking the ancient fishing port — fresh Lebanese mezze, grilled fish, and seafood served with the medieval city walls and the Mediterranean as your backdrop. One of the most memorable lunch settings in Lebanon and a fitting end to a day that began underground and ends by the sea.

30 min

Wander the charming stone-paved old souk — artisan workshops, antique dealers, and Phoenician-inspired jewellery — before strolling down to the ancient fishing harbour, one of the oldest ports in the world still in daily use. The colourful boats, medieval walls, and Mediterranean views make this the most photogenic spot in Byblos.

Pass by

Return to Beirut — approx. 5:00 PM Scenic coastal drive back to Beirut with drop-off at your hotel — completing a full day from the depths of Jeita Grotto to the heights of Harissa to the ancient shores of Byblos.

Spectacular Grottos

The upper and lower grottos we visited were spectacular. Not really big though, we felt the great work of nature. We loved the boat ride on the underground river in the lower grotto.

Great value for money. Amazing trip and food

The agency has made the tour despite the difficult conditions that are being experienced in Lebanon with numerous roads blocked by barricades and protesters. Our driver, Ziad, has been fantastic and a great professional. The visits have been very worthwhile. Jeita Grotto is fascinating and Byblos is a beautiful city of 7000 years. Featured mention for the restaurant and the menu (included in the price), usually, on this kind of excursions, meals are usually bad and scarce. Today they have taken us to the Malena restaurant, with amazing views of the old port of Byblos, and we have had a great menu, including traditional Lebanese mezze and grilled fish.
