A memorable day out, we were picked up from our hotel outside Palampur by a guide and driver and driven up through narrow roads between villages and farmland before heading off road on a track high up into the hills to visit a small, isolated temple dedicated to the goddess Durga. Beautiful scenery, amazing views, skilful driving and then a substantial and delicious picnic set up on a large rock on the riverbed while the crystal clear water trickled by. Special mention to Simarin for her excellent guiding.
