Itinerary
The Orchestra I Virtuosi dell’opera di Roma is specialized in performing whole opera repertoire from the Italian lyrical tradition. “La Traviata”, the opera by Giuseppe Verdi, set in Paris in mid 1800’, narrates the impossible love between Violetta, a well-known courtesan, and Alfredo, a young good-looking nobleman. Since its beginning, their story is predestined to end in tragedy. During a party, courtesan Violetta discovers that Alfredo loves her since one year. A short while afterwards they are living together near Paris, but because of her past behaviour, Alfredo’s father asks her to leave him. Violetta sacrifices herself and Alfredo, unaware, hurts her. A few months later Violetta is dying. Soon Alfredo is there at her bedside. Crying out that she feels life returning, she falls dead in his arms. The Orchestra I Virtuosi dell'opera di Roma usually perform in the elegant Salone Margherita Theatre and in the prestigious Church of St. Paul within the Walls in Rome.

Some lovely voices, especially the soprano and baritone. The singing got a bit lost when the singers were towards the back of the Chiesa. The cast could have been more expressive in their acting. Loved the instrumental music especially the piano and flute. A very pleasant evening. ( The seats got a bit hard!)
Today has been a clear example of how the organization and staff of an event can turn a beautiful experience into a bad memory. Tickets purchased for one line and assigned to another. Unpleasant treatment by the staff. The location of the musicians was terrible; no artist could be seen. A sad experience.
The church is an appropriate space. Hayden's creation was excellently interpreted. Only the inclusion of modern music was unnecessary. Great experience
A great night in Rome… tremendous service, very friendly from the moment you arrive, and the opera was really good; I always wanted to attend one… congratulations to you all.
The singers and musicians quite well, but very expensive for the conditions of the place: it looks and hears badly, rumbles and echoes, and being all flat, from a row like the 8 I almost could not see the scenes. The place is not suitable for it.
Watching La Traviata was a powerful and emotional experience. The music was breathtaking. The staging and costumes added to the atmosphere. Overall, it was a memorable and beautiful introduction to opera. Thank you.
It was a ravish. The singer, the orchestra, everything! I would recomand that show anytime. La Traviata is a great opéra. Especialy in Roma…
Dramatized opera concert performed in a church where the music was carried forward both powerfully and professionally despite small orchestra and ensemble. We had a very nice evening!
A wonderful experience in a place that is just as much. Intimate opera with a lot of emotions. Thank you very much.
This is my second visit. The first time I heard The Three Tenors, now La Traviata. A wonderful performance!
