Humantay, is a snow-covered mountain that is part of the Andean mountain range, among these the majestic Salkantay and Humantay mountains, which at the thaw gives rise to the lagoon that, due to its unique turquoise color, generates the interest of foreign and national visitors. The tour starts picking you up from your hotel at 04:00 am approx, depending on your hotel location the pickup time will be quite different.
Once the group is ready the great adventure will start in the direction of the Humantay Lake. You travel by car for 2 hours approx in our tourist transport until arriving in the community of Mollepata. Here, you enjoy a delicious breakfast before continuing with the tour. Continuing the Humantay Lake Tour, The car leaves the main road to take the dirt road for 1 hour more. During the trip, you can observe beautiful landscapes, canyons, cloud forest, and beautiful glaciers as The Salkantay Glacier (The second biggest glacier of Cusco region).
Once you arrive at the final stop for the van, the group start hiking for 1.5 hours more approx. The time is an average and It depends on sure of your speed but no worries you will hike at your rhythm. The hike is a little bit more step than the Rainbow Mountain Tour, so try to have many stops in order to don’t get tired easily. Upon reaching the incredible Humantay turquoise Lake, All the group will have the information from the Tour Guide and free time to explore more the place, an approximate 40 minutes will remain before to get back to the parking. END OF THE TOUR After 1 hour you get lunch in the same restaurant than in the morning. As the hike demands a lot of effort, the lunch is Buffet in order to recover all the energy lost in the hike. Ending the Humantay Lake Tour, you return to Cusco city arriving at 5:00 pm approx., where our transport will take you to the city center or if it's a Private Service to your respective hotel. Yesi is a great guide; she does her job with love, and it shows. The experience is incredible and very enjoyable if you are in good physical condition. We would definitely return happily.
We hired the Perú Grand Travel agency, still in Brazil, with 2 months left for our trip that happened in June/26. They solved everything for us! They made the transfer from the airport, the tours were the way we asked to serve my husband who has motor difficulties. The guide Yessi was super careful, respectful with my husband and everyone in the group I indicate a lot. Super confident. Very precious Yessi guide!! Oops! The agency asks for a 25% advance payment, super understand if you give me a little. But you can trust.
From start to finish, it was an excellent tour. They picked us up at the agreed time (very early, which helped us arrive at the destination without other tourists). The driver Jaime was very kind at all times, and he took us to all the destinations safely and quickly. We had a buffet breakfast halfway through the trip to the Humantay lagoon, with very good products, which was greatly appreciated to arrive with energy for the trekking. The guide Roony let us sleep on the way to the lake, and there, he was attentive to the whole group (those who rode horses and those of us who trekked) and explained some things about the site and the local culture along the way. Then at the lagoon, he was always willing to take photos of all of us (showing us the best spots) and he gave us an explanation of the lagoon, the mountains, and the treks that can be done. On the way back, we stopped for lunch at the same place where we had breakfast, everything was very delicious. And on the return trip to Cusco, the guide provided us with information about some Inca terraces.
Beautiful experience. The Humantay Lake is unique and incredible. Roony was our guide and took care of every person in the group. In my case, due to an injury to my foot, I rode a mule, and everything was very organized. I appreciate the explanation Roony gave us about Humantay Lake: history and anecdotes. His passion and professionalism for what he does is evident. Jaime, the driver, is very professional.

Very good tour! The place is beautiful, so the hike is worth it. Roony is an excellent guide keeping you motivated all the way and taking care of your health with advice and previous warm-up. Plus very clear and simple explanations of local history.

Very good experience. We were picked up in Cusco at 3:50am and had breakfast at a buffet in less than 30 minutes. This allowed us to reach the lagoon before anyone else. We had the whole place just for ourselves and the pictures were amazing. Most visitors don’t arrive so early and their photos are not so clean. 100% recommended. Very good experience. And our guide Rafael excellent.
