The Humantay Lagoon is a stunning natural destination that has become a must-see for travelers in Cusco. Located more than 4,200 m above sea level, its isolated waters of intense turquoise hue reflect the surrounding snowfall and create a landscape of enormous visual impact that many describe as “magical” and “otherworldly”. What I love most Water color and mountainous surroundings: the contrast between the turquoise of the lagoon and the snowy summits that surround it is simply stunning and perfect for spectacular photos. Andean trekking experience: the trek to the lagoon – on foot or on horseback – offers beautiful panoramas of mountains, streams and Andean flora. Connection with nature: Many visitors highlight the sense of peace, pure energy and connection with the natural environment during the visit. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
It was a life experience trip - we lived every moment from the start of the climb to the mesmerising views of the lagoon and the glaciers. Also a big thank you to our guide Hector who was really great, caring and very helpful.
Everything offered was delivered on time and with much enthusiasm and insight. John Wick's group was so very well done. Absolutely stunning scenery and a great day out!
Amazing scenery, all effort was rewarded in the end. Walking requires physical effort, but there is the option of climbing with a rental horse for those who prefer. Hotel pick-up, breakfast and lunch included in the Vacation Package. The Guide Alfredo was very helpful and attentive to everyone. He has a lot of knowledge and explained everything to us.
I rehired in Private Service transportation and guide with machu picchu best and was marveled, thank you again.
Our guide was very professional, friendly and enthusiastic. The pick-up was punctual and the driver gained also quickly my confidence (the drive near the top can get a bit tricky if it rains a lot). Five stars for the tour company. For the tour itself: The early pick-up (4 am) is brutal and the drive is a bit long. The hike on the other hand is relatively short and hence not very physically demanding (do expect however a tough one hour of uphill). The lake as such is indeed beautiful, however one needs a bit of luck that it doesn't get too foggy (often the case), as the surrounding mountains with their snowed peaks account for half of the beauty of the landscape. Unavoidably, once at the lake you will bump into many other tourists from other groups and the stay itself is short. Overall, a somewhat disproportionate time and effort to arrive to the lake vs the time to enjoy it, but personally I did not regret it. If you decide to do the tour, then I recommend this tour operator.
I recommend the tour if you arrive in cusco, the transport the guide and the food was good we were picked up at the indicated time
We had a very nice experience when visiting the humantay lagoon, I never saw such a crystal clear lake and it was very satisfying to reach the top, the last hike was very tired but we liked it, our guide accompanied us and explained us a little , recommended your visit if you reach cusco
The lake and the scenery on the way are beautiful.when trekking,it is all up,a little hard.It is not hotel drop-off.
