Hot Springs Pura Vida

Pura Vida Hot Springs was great value for the cost. The river was flowing high and beautiful with lights at night. Food good. Great way to spend a few hours.

Arrived early and they don’t open until 10. When they opened they said closed for some repairs and was upgraded to next door Tabacon. Here’s the twist- didn’t like Tabacon at all. VERY touristy and hoyty-toyty. Right next to Tabacon about 50 steps ahead is “El Chollin” the free hot springs that locals go and it was more natural and peaceful. Ended up going there next morning at 7 using Uber and spent 5 hours soaking in my own pool that locals have put together. Parking is tight so take uber and ask for “gratis termalitas”. Do the free one!

Beautiful place, great service, including drinks poolside, a restaurant, locker room, showers and access to the hot springs river.

A small and very well-maintained facility with everything one needs. The staff is very attentive. We were almost alone in the really beautiful natural stream, which was quite warm... indeed Hot Springs. The food and drinks were also impeccable and at really friendly prices. There were free towels, and one could also securely store their valuables. Pura Vida... always gladly.

The area was very pretty. It was kind of small and could be a problem if it were busy. When we went there may have been 10 people so no issues. The spring is very rough in spots and can easily knock you down if you do not weigh much. Be sure to take water shoes.

We wanted to go to one of the hot springs near Fortuna. There are various price ranges. We chose the pura vida hotsprings. There is a lovely hot pool, filled with thermal water. It is located on the river, through which the warm volcanic water flows, and which you can enter in several places. Towels are included, as well as the safety deposit box. Furthermore, there are no massage jets or plunge pools. Many locals also visit these hot springs. It was the weekend and people were ordering food and cocktails, which were served at the edge of the pool. I thought that was weird, but what I really couldn't do is that it is apparently allowed to sit in the pool and vape (literally in the water). It was a special experience, we have experienced that once, shall we say.

Pool was dirty and water was hotter than hot spring water . The bathroom was clean and they have bar area . Pros is there wasnt a lot of people so you don’t have to worry about crowds.

It was a great experience, we had an amazing time with the family. Access to the thermal river was the best and super relaxing. We also dined and the restaurant is very rich and fairly affordable. I really recommend it.

Beautiful relaxing, boutique experience at an affordable price

We came here as part of a package with our hotel. We took a taxi/Uber for transportation so we packed a change of dry clothes. When you check in they provide a key for locker in women’s changing room and a key for locker in men’s. You should know that high up on the wall is a sign saying video surveillance is in use and there is also a camera mounted on the wall. The camera and sign are mounted out of your normal line of sight. It wasn’t until after we had changed that one person noticed the cameras. The hot springs river was fine, but make sure you bring water shoes and read the warning signs about putting your head in water and bacteria. Your swimsuit will collect some river sentiment. After rinsing off springs river water we enjoyed the heated pool. The food was good and modestly priced, we thought it was better than our resort. It was good for a few hours, just make sure you change in a toilet stall.
