The History museum had a lot we learned from about fort Lauderdale. Understanding the port references with US navy was interesting as well. Milton was a great guide !
We enjoyed our guided tour Sunday afternoon 1:00pm with Daniel. We listened to the historical stories, saw the artifacts from the traditional way of living, experienced the schoolhouse environment, and looked at the gallery. It is a great opportunity to slow down, listen, and reflect for a new perspective looking at the modern air conditioned city, Fort Lauderdale.
Thanks for visiting us and for taking time to review.
We had a wonderful experience learning the history of Fort Lauderdale. Our tour guide David was exceptional and our receptionist Val ensured we felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. Job well done and I would highly recommend visiting.
Thank you! We're lucky to have great folks like Val and David working with us. So glad you enjoyed the tour.
Our guide, David, was extremely knowledgeable and really made it feel like we were back in time. All of the pieces were well kept and accurate to the time period. I would highly recommend
We're so glad you visited and enjoyed the experience.
As a true Floridian from Fort Lauderdale born and raised I’m embarrassed to say this was my first time visiting this museum at the age of 44. Man have I missed out on the true history of my hometown. The tour was very informative I was especially impressed with the Black in Broward section. It made me proud especially being a Dillard high school alumni and seeing it displayed. Ms. Val was an absolute joy with welcoming us and giving us a little history. She set the tone. Definitely come check it out especially as a native.
High praise from a Local. Thank you!!
Absolutely amazing experience from the moment you walk in Val at the front desk offers a warm and inviting presence. The history is amazing to learn how Lauderdale has become the city it is today! All history buffs must stop by and experience the diversity of what made Fort Lauderdale.

David was great tour guide! Learned alot from both the guide and the museum as well. Definitely recommend coming here. Lots of historical information about the history of the area.
We're so glad you visited us. Thank you!
I did the self guided tour on a Saturday afternoon. There are two floors of exhibits in individual rooms. The exhibits detail the history of Fort Lauderdale, from the Seminoles to Flagler’s railroad. The building is the first hotel in Fort Lauderdale, built in 1905.
We're so glad you visited us!
