great historical insights into a beautiful city

My wife booked us on to Keith's tour as part of my birthday weekend celebrations. It was great. Keith is an extremely well-informed, friendly and inclusive guide, full of humorous, macabre, and sometimes moving stories about the history of York's many splendid pubs. A cosy stop-off mid-tour at the Old Starre was welcome on what was an unexpectedly chilly May afternoon. As relative newcomers to Yorkshire, the tour was a great way for us to get to know our adopted city better, and develop even greater fondness for its atmospheric tangle of streets and buildings - new and ancient. Revenue from the tour was in aid of the excellent cause Keep Your Pet, which is a further added incentive to book. Highly recommended.

Historical Pub Walks

Keith was very knowledgeable and the tour was given with great humour and passion. The cost he charged was for the charity Keep Your Pets run by Age UK York.

A Hidden Gem of a Tour — Keith is Wonderful!

We had the pleasure of doing a private historical pub walking tour with Keith, and it truly exceeded our expectations. Keith was incredibly accommodating as we worked together to schedule a private tour so we could go at our own pace, and his flexibility made the whole experience feel special from the start. What really touched our hearts was learning that the "cost" is a donation to Keep Your Pet. As pet lovers ourselves, this meant so much to us. The tour itself was a genuine revelation: we wandered through parts of the city we never would have discovered on our own, stumbled upon charming pubs we would have simply walked right past, and soaked up history we would never have known to look for. If you're expecting a party crawl, this isn't that. It's a richly historical experience with a few delicious pints woven in along the way. We absolutely loved every moment and cannot recommend Keith highly enough!

Good evening walk

We thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour. Keith is a great guide, very knowledgeable and interesting with lots of stories. We liked the chance to stop and have a drink in one of the pubs and socialise with the group. A big bonus for us was Keith's voice, very clear and not shouty! Thank again and we would recommend this walking tour.

Interesting walk with knowledgeable host.

Interesting walk. Keith clearly had a passion for the subject - both the pubs themselves and their history. It gave us idea of which pubs to visit after.
