William Spinx was so knowledgeable and enjoyable! I’d do any tour that he guides. This was the favorite tour we did and we did 4 in our short time in Savannah. He did the city proud!
Thank you so much for your review. I think you made him misty eyed. 😂
We got rescheduled twice, which was fine, but on the day of the tour the guide was late and didn’t text or anything to let us know he would be late. If he was late only, that would have been okay but being late after rescheduling twice was a no go for us so we waited till 1:06 (tour started at 1) and left.
We had to reschedule the Homes tour twice due to our scheduled guide being out with the flu. We gave the guests ample time to reschedule and they eagerly did. We rescheduled for a special afternoon Homes tour that they quickly accepted. Our guide giving the Homes tour was a few (1:07pm)minutes late getting to the square because he had to assist an elderly man to his hotel after the morning tour and took a few min longer than expected so he skipped his lunch break. All the other guests who arrived for the 1:00pm tour were there when the guide arrived but this guest chose to leave the square within minutes of the tour starting. The guide texted the guests upon arriving to the square but there was no response. The other guests on the tour suspected they had found something they would rather do at that time. She later told us she left the negative review because she had not yet received her refund. That’s not the purpose of reviews and refunds are not processed on weekends.
Absolutely loved having William as our guide. Very informative and not boring at all. Kept you interested and could tell he had a real passion and intrest in the topic.
Thank you do much for the review! We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your tour!!
We arrived for our tour at the designated meeting time and location. Nobody showed up to give the tour. We could have scheduled another time and day, but, we had already made plans for the days we were visiting the city.
Thank you for the review! If you recall, our guide had called in having Covid 19 and we gave you a list of alternate tour times and dates and asked you to choose one and confirm a date. You never did. You just showed up on an alternate date that happened to be on a rainy day that nobody signed up for. You would read our text messages but not respond to any of them and phone calls went to voicemail making communication with you frustrating.
As a first time visitor to Savannah, Georgia, I found this to be a surprising and very pleasurable tour to start my visit. The tour guide was very personable and very knowledgeable about the homes we saw, the history, and the people of Savannah. He sometimes veered into a dialogue that was more personal opinion than historical fact which I found slightly offputting. I simply continued to askbpertinent and relevant questions to our topic, and that brought him back to more historical and accurate facts. I don’t believe he was trying to be provocative, just part of his personality. I would recommend this tour to others and to friends of mine, but with the caveat of you take what you get with individual the tour guide guides.
Thank you so much for your review! We shared it with your guide and your review really made his day. 😊 He did say that the other couples on the tour really enjoyed the tour but he did say he could tell that you seemed worried that he might say something “southern” while on tour. Guides normally don’t offer personal opinions on tour but sometimes historical truths offered in context can be disturbing. Regardless, we certainly appreciate your review.
William provided quite a lot of interesting historical information and kept us entertained with his wit and humor.
Thank you so much for the review! We are so glad to hear you enjoyed the tour! We would have thought the wit and humor would have cliched a 5 star review for sure! Lol.
We strolled at a comfortable pace and learned amazing history!! Laughs and fun were included for free
We’re so glad you enjoyed the tour! Your experience is what we hope for for all of our guests!!
Loved it, very cool! Such a rich history. Out your guide was very engaging and informative. The homes were so cool, and let’s of ghost stories as well.
We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed the tour! With Savannah considered the most haunted city in the country it’s hard to skip the ghosts on a homes tour!
We loved our tour guide, any question we could think of he supplied an answer! We learned so much and even in the rain, had a great time! He gave us great suggestions on what else to experience in Savannah and what WOULD be wheelchair friendly for my father.
Thank you so much for the review! We are so glad to hear y’all enjoyed the tour and it was a pleasure helping your dad navigate his electric chariot through this 300 year old city.
Great history tour and the guide was very knowledgeable. Was changed to a historical tour after the homes tour was canceled after the guide was not available
Thank you so much for the tour! Your guide toured the Historic tour into a hybrid historic/homes tour last minute but it did include all the houses shown on the homes tour. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed it!
