Hike 3 hours Inland Terceira Island
Description
This route starts at Lagoa do Negro and runs through the Serra de Santa Bárbara nature reserve. We know the Cedars of the Bush and the Cryptomerias. This is probably the most pristine trail in the Azores, as you will have the opportunity to pass through the protected area and contemplate the Laurissilva forest.

Mario was an excellent guide! Adapted hike location for rainy weather. So knowledgeable, patient, excellent good humor. Beautiful views of pasture, cliffs, sea. Mario informed us about island history, vegetation, and geology.
Beautiful trail and one of the best experiences I had during my visit to Terceira. I did the trail on a rainy day and didn't find it difficult, but I recommend bringing suitable footwear. It should be noted that Mário was an excellent guide, always taking care to explain a little about the history of the island as well as the forest and its different species. On a future visit, I will definitely do other trails with Mário.
