Very fun way to see the city. We not only played the games but also could stop for food and activities we found along the way
Thank you so much! 😊 Playing the games while stopping for food and activities you discovered along the way — that's exactly the flexible, fun experience we want to create in Helsinki! We hope to welcome your family of 6 on another adventure in a different city soon! 🗺️
Pleasant walk, the puzzles are accessible. Point of improvement: some places mentioned are not on the route and therefore not visited. Examples: archives and places of execution.
This is a fun way to explore a city with friends. Once you get going it makes sense but it’s a challenge to figure out the app/puzzles at first. I know this is because they have to do it visually since there’s so many languages but just be aware of that. No matter where on the list you start it makes the circuit so you will see everything. With that in mind, I wouldn’t recommend starting at the National Theatre (our first stop) because the question is confusing. We actually couldn’t get our phone to work at first so started exploring on our own and then later picked up the game at a different spot when we could connect. This ended up being a good thing as we wouldn’t have understood what we were supposed to do if we had started at the theatre. Also be aware there is a LOT of walking and quite a bit of climbing. We were able to do it all but it would be extremely difficult for someone with disabilities or health issues.
This was a good first activity to do when we arrived in Helsinki as it gave us an overview of the city and the key sights, with the addition of puzzles to keep my teenager engaged! The puzzles were generally pitched at a good level, just one that was a little too easy. You can go at your own pace, start and finish whenever you want and stop along the way. We had beautiful sun come out as we passed a park so stopped there for a bit.
