Excellent day trip for whole family. Porvoo is a charming place with a lot of cozy cafes. Easy to walk around. Our guide Ulla was fantastic. No heavy history. We mainly talked about daily life of a typical Finn. A lot of cool stories and fun facts. Absolutely recommend this trip!
Thanks a million for such a lovely review! It really made our day to read that your whole family had a great time in Porvoo. We’re so glad Ulla could share some of the cool stories and fun facts about everyday Finnish life with you — that’s what makes the trip special! It’s wonderful to know you enjoyed the cosy cafes and the easy walking route. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience! Looking forward to seeing you again! Best regards, Kate
We did this tour today (mid June). We were picked up from our hotel in central Helsinki. There were only two of us, but it was a 7-seater SUV so the guide was able to sit facing us and gave us a good overview of not just Porvoo but also brief history of Finland, culture, food and many topics while we are en-route (45 min) to Porvoo. We walked around the old town, learned about the Devil Stairs and gossip mirrors, visited quaint shops (sampled traditional Finnish licorice, chocolate and ice cream). Our guide (Olga) was very knowlegeable and able answer questions even on the floral and fauna we encountered along the way. She also told us about the annual samba festival happening in Helsinki today and we made back to our the city centre in time to see it.
Thank you so much for your feedback! We're very happy to hear you had a great visit to Porvoo! It's always our goal to provide an experience that’s both enjoyable and educational. Hope to see you again. Br, Kseniia
45 mins from Helsinki is the lovely medieval walkable town of Porvoo. Shops, local ice cream, 15th century buildings and our amazing, knowledgeable guide Olga made for a lovely half day tour. Would recommend!

Our guide Tia was amazing. She was fun, energetic, entertaining, and knowledgable about Helsinki and Porvoo. We enjoyed our tour with her and learning about Porvoo and spending time in the adorable medieval town.
We did a private tour of Medieval Porvoo using Viator Website. We were picked up at our Hotel in Helsinki and on our way to Porvoo we learnt the History of the Medieval Town and Finland in general. Our Guide was very knowledgeable on the History of Finland which made the trip even more interesting. We would recommend this tour as it gives you an insight into Beautiful Finland.
Porrvoo does have some unique and historical buildings, most of which are utilized as boutique shops, B&Bs or restaurants. If you elect to visit, bring your credit cards if you plan to shop. This is NOT the place to seek out cheap tee shirts!

Amazing guide, very knowledgeable and flexible, was happy to show me things I was interested in seeing in Porvoo and discuss other off topic subjects related to Finland in general. I highly recommend this tour to Porvoo, especially the museum and Holm House. A quaint little village full of charms and nostalgia, an important city in Finland's history. Well worth a visit.

We took this tour because we wanted to see really historical and authentic Finnish city. Actually, as we got to know from our great guide, it is the second oldest city of Finland. We were travelling with our small child, and taking individual tour was the best option for us. We highly recommend this tour!

Porvoo is a very lovely old city, and it is really one of those hidden gems of the country that you should visit to see the real Finland. Our lovely guide showed us well-known spots, as well as small nice places that only locals know about. Absolutely must see!
