Helsinki and Porvoo Tour with Private Car & Personal Guide

Our driver picked us (four separately scheduled couples) up on time but was very gruff with us. Three of the eight passengers were required to sit backwards. We were packed in three to a seat in each row, including the front seat with the driver. He was informative; but it was as if he reading a bunch of facts he memorized while he drove us haphazardly through town sites in a random order. When we asked questions, he was flustered because we got off the rote plane. And when we asked us if he could share where we were going next, he told us the itinerary was in the email. I cannot not recommend this tour. Also, the tour time was scheduled earlier than we planned at 0815. We stopped at the market first but none of the stalls were open. Then, several stores in Porvoo were not open this early. It was disappointing to go the market and town when things weren’t even open to peruse and enjoy.

We booked and paid for a private tour and car. We were piled into a small van with three other couples. Three of the seats were back facing so you couldn’t see what the guide was talking about until he had already passed it. He went on and on about topics of no interest to anyone. Very unhappy with this experience. I’ve taken several other trips with this company during this vacation and had issues as well. I would not recommend using again.

Finnba is a great guide. He takes his job seriously and knows so much. The tour company is having growing pains. They seem to have switched from private or shared car tours to small group minivans. Those of us who booked as private car are reasonably upset about the last minute change. They are having to do more than one tour a day and some aren’t happy with the timing. I think once they can set up their description and scheduling process up better there won’t be the upset customers every day. The van they have is new,safe, and nice but the seating configuration isn’t what Americans are used to which also caused some in our group to be upset. The company was responsive to our concerns and we were happy with the tour but there was some stress involved that could have been prevented by better communication upfront.

Victory is the perfect tour guide. She knows everything. Enjoyed our tour a lot. She is like the Wikipedia from Finland.

Too much driving. Driver was too busy saying “look here, look there” with not many stops. Van was too small for 8 people and my husband couldn’t see anything from the back sitting in the middle. I would’ve liked to see more historical sites with stops.

Our tour was comprehensive and guide, Finbar was outstanding in knowledge of Finnish history and culture. I highly recommend to all first time visitors for a gentle introduction to the Finnish way of life.

Before starting tour , this agent change time. After argument with travel agent , agent change time to ours. Just before One to start tour , travel agent msg that this tour has become shared tour from earlier booking of Private. Never expected FINLAND Travel Agent behave unprofessional like this. Very bad

It eas a great tour to see the main sites of Helsinki & Porvoo was nice for shopping We learned so much history very interesting

Worth while tour. Finba was a knowledgeable guide and we had good photo stops. Not too strenuous. We learned a lot of history and the economic downturn since the Russian border was closed and they no longer buy oil from them.

This tour was just ok. A lot of it was spent in the car and although our guide talked a lot about Finland and provided some great facts, it still felt a little boring. The best part was Porvoo but we only got 30 minutes in the town. We could have spent 45-60 there and the tour would have been much better.
