12-13 Minute Victoria Falls Helicopter Flight The most popular helicopter flight in Victoria Falls known as the “Flight of Angels”. This helicopter flight takes off from the helicopter pad and heads straight for the magnificent Victoria Falls. The pilot will complete left and right hand orbits over the Victoria Falls. This allows passengers on both sides of the helicopter fantastic views of Victoria Falls. The helicopter then heads upstream and over the Zambezi national Park before landing.

The organization was very helpful and easy do communicate with and accommodated a request to change times at the last minute. Very smooth and professional ground and air operation. And the views, though pricey, were once in a lifetime.
Such a great helicopter ride and so worth it. To view the Falls that way is amazing and we were up there for 15 min but seemed like so much more
First of all thank you to Jenny who was quite helpful during the booking and change pick up point. The experience of seeing Victoria Falls from the air is unique and highly recommended for everyone. Afterwards they were still very helpful in recovering photos. Great!
As part of a tour group, about 20 of us booked the 22-minute flights. This was booked about 3/4 days prior to the flight. The groupings were submitted so that people could take the flight with people of their choice. In my case, my wife, her brother and her sister-in-law. Another single traveler was added to make up the 5 people required to fill the seats. The 20 people were divided into 2 groups: one scheduled for 3 p.m. and the other for 4 p.m. The Angel of Flight van was late picking up the first group. Once at the helicopter venue, they started weighing passengers and moving everyone around based on the weights and to balance the choppers. I understand this is for safety reasons and have absolutely no issue with that. But, with 3- or 4-days advance notice, we could have been asked to submit our weights in advance and all the logistics worked out. In the end, I didn't get to fly with my family. The 22-minute flight was 20 minutes (yes, I timed it. At US$12.00 per minute, I was interested). So, about $25US left out there somewhere. The biggest frustration was the lateness of the actual flight. We lifted off after 4 p.m. losing about an hour. That put the second group behind by an equal amount of time. After the flight we tried to make suggestions to the people who seemed to be in charge, but they just nodded. It was like this was their first day in business and it was chaos. All in all, it was the biggest waste of time and money in our 22 days on tour.

We fully understand how disappointing it can be when an eagerly anticipated highlight doesn’t go as smoothly as planned. There are three different helicopter operators based in Victoria Falls, and I dont see a group of +/- 20 on our books recently, we are unfortunately unable to confirm which operator handled your group’s flight on that particular day. That said, we take all feedback seriously and always follow up with our operating partners to ensure that guest experiences remain at the high standard that Victoria Falls is known for. Large groups — such as yours of around 20 guests, can indeed be more complex to coordinate due to limited seating and strict aviation regulations. Each helicopter has a maximum of five or six passengers, and every guest is guaranteed a window seat for the best possible view of the Falls. Because there are only a set number of aircraft permitted to operate over the Falls at any one time for safety as well as other guests on the grounds enjoyment, operators must carefully schedule departures. For this reason, we usually recommend to travel agents handling large groups that they split participants across different time slots during the day to avoid delays and allow families to fly together where possible. Regarding the weighing procedure, aviation safety regulations in Zimbabwe require all passengers to be weighed on-site prior to boarding. This information cannot be collected in advance, as final aircraft load balancing must be verified immediately before each flight. While it can feel time-consuming, it is an essential part of ensuring both guest and crew safety. The pre-flight briefing and weight checks form part of these mandatory safety protocols. We are sincerely sorry that your experience did not match the excitement felt by the hundreds of guests who leave glowing reviews about this breathtaking “Flight of the Angels.” Your comments, however, are valuable, and we will ensure they are shared with our partners to help improve the coordination of future group bookings. We took an Angel helicopter flight this morning. The whole experience was seamless, very well organised. We loved the views over the landscape and Victoria Falls. It added a whole new dimension to what you cannot see when you walk the falls. I would definitely recommend if you have time.

Hi Anderson, I am sorry that you felt that the view of Victoria Falls was not as good as you expected. The height of the flights is governed by strict regulations, for flight safety, but as well as conservation and regard for the tourists in the park that wouldnt want the sound of the helicopter right overhead. We do however hope that overall you did enjoy the spectaculr Victoria Falls.
Had an excellent (1st helicopter) experience over Victoria Falls! We did the land walk 1st to Victoria Falls but the mist was too extreme. Couldn't see much. Decided to experience Victoria Falls from above & it was quite an experience! Must do!!!
We were promptly picked up at our lodge. Everything went very smoothly. Our group consisted of 3 people and we went up in a 4 person helicopter by ourselves. We did the 25 minute ride and the pilot was fantastic, making sure both sides of the helicopter had a view of the falls, the gorges, and the animals in the park. It gave us a chance to see the falls from a different perspective and we signed up for the last flight of the day, which is the time the sun hits the droplets and produces rainbows. It was a very smooth ride and one of the highlights of our stay in Victoria Falls.
Amazing views from uptop in the sky, I personally got to sit in the front with the pilot and saw everything from up above the falls, and all of us would recommend us doing it whenever you go to Zambia or Zimbabwe!
