Harry Potter’s Edinburgh: A Self-Guided Audio Tour

Description
Come with me Muggles on a self-guided audio tour and explore the Edinburgh that inspired J.K. Rowling’s global phenomenon! We'll explore the secret alleyways of the Old Town, starting at Edinburgh Castle, then we'll wander down to “Diagon Alley” and find the gravestones of Voldemort and some other well-known characters from the Harry Potter series. We'll spot “Hogwarts School of Wizardry” along the way too, and if you like, you can stop in at the famous and not-so-famous cafes where J.K. Rowling wrote before Harry Potter became a best-seller. Our journey will include: • A fantastic view of the Edinburgh Castle from the esplanade in front of it • The Royal Mile, Old Town’s most famous street • The Writer’s Museum, a literature fan’s heaven • Victoria Street, one of Scotland's most photographed streets • The Grassmarket where you’ll hear a story of one very lucky lady from the 1700s. • Greyfriar’s Graveyard

We enjoyed seeing sights related to Harry Potter while learning some local history. A couple of times our audio got slightly out of sync but at least one of our group was in the right place and we were able to figure it out.
It was very basic and hardly spoke about Harry Potter more about the history of Edinburgh which wouldn’t be to bad as it was interesting but not what is advertised also said it would take 40- an hour but when put in the code for the audio guide it was almost 2 hours
A good start to see the city for first timers, but we were not really able to use the audio guide. Flexible timing.
Harry Potter fans will find this enjoyable. The walking audio tour was very informative and gave great visual guidance while walking. We highly recommend it to the Harry Potter fans!!
Brilliant really easy to use, really informative myself and son loved it. Would definitely do this sort of thing again.
It was easy and worked very well we took everything in out own tempo and could pause the tour and look ind the stores
We were not able to do this activity exclusively in English contrary to what is written during the purchase (English and French)... not being bilingual, we never started the activity, 25€ thrown out the window
Hi Estelle V, I'm sorry that you were unhappy with your experience. Unfortunately, this tour is available in English and German but not French. Apologies for the miscommunication. Please reach out to us on support@voicemap.me and we will process a refund if you email us your details. Regards, Helene
I was not sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised! We chose this option because we didn't want to be tied down by a scheduled tour. We downloaded the tour beforehand and were able to click play whenever we wanted. The app itself is super cool and I will certainly be looking for tours like this in other destinations. It was also super informative and wasn't overboard on Harry Potter. There was a greater focus on the history of the city and how it informed or influenced the books. We learned so much about the hidden and often dark histories of some of Edinburgh's most iconic landmarks.
Since we knew we would becoming in later afternoon to Edinburgh, this tour was great for us to do on our own at our own time. The audio tour gave very good instructions and we enjoyed learning more about places in Edinburgh that influenced JK Rowling's books about Harry Potter. Victoria Street is awesome!
It was an overall excellent tour, the cemetery was the best part aswell as Diagonal Alley with attached shops.
