This Sunset tour allows visitors to discover the hidden world and wildlife of the lush rainforest, and the picturesque volcano, which is dyed in the colors of the sunset, hanging of the most spectacular bridges of Costa Rica. Accompanied by a naturalist guide, you will hike a paved trail of 3.2 km, with a total of six hanging bridges.

The Mystic Reserve Hanging Bridges of the Arenal offers its guests the possibility of observing the forest at sunset and part of the dusk with the Twilight Mystic tour. The tour takes place on our trails through the suspension bridges. It is possible the observation of herpetofauna such as frogs, snakes, mammals such as saínos, anteaters, olingos, nocturnal birds such as the owl in addition to the singing of the nocturnal species that inhabit the reserve will offer the guest a show in the magical environment of the darkness of the night. The primary forest at sunset is an entirely different experience from what you can live during the morning and even at night.

This was my very favorite tour in all of Costa Rica! We did the twighlight tour and it was amazing! You get the best of both worlds as you start during the daylight and see monkeys, birds and other mammals, then you transition to the night tour with snakes and frogs and tarantulas! We watched a beautiful sunset over the canopy as we trekked across the first hanging bridges and then were given flashlights to explore the jungle at night for the final ones. Our guide, Harvin, was absolutely amazing! He was so knowledgeable, answering our questions about geology and fungi, teaching us about the bioluminescence of different types of insects and such, while still keeping our kids super engaged, helping them to spot frogs and joking with them. Harvin had a great eye and was able to spot many many animals that we never would have seen. He also helped us take some amazing photos, as he would angle the telescopic lens and the light of the flashlight to get these great, dramatic night shots (which made my photos look amateur in comparison!) we saw a ton of wildlife. The kids loved it and so did I. The hanging bridges are really fun and the highlight of our trip!

Our Guide Alvaro was wonderful!!! He was so good at spotting animals we could have easily walked by and missed. He took the time to show us with his telescope and even helped us capture photos / videos up close! We had a wonderful time on our evening tour through the hanging bridges. At the beginning we saw many monkeys, a viper, May species of birds and a lizard and then we walked around and enjoyed the trails. It started to pour rain! But we still enjoyed every minute (we came prepared with rain jackets). At the end of the hike we saw different frogs and tarantulas too! I would recommend booking an evening tour over the day time as it was more quiet because there was less crowds and our tour was more private too. I will mention that it was steep and could be slippery in the wrong shoes so were shoes with good traction and pack a raincoat just incase!

Our guide, Angelica, with her excellent English, took us on an informative twilight walk in which we saw all sorts of animals (a sloth, lizards, venomous snakes, wild boars, agoutis, a variety of native birds, etc.). Without Angelica, we would never have seen all the animals in the rain forest. It is a long uphill hike but on very well constructed concrete paths with railings. Due to the darkness, you are not able to go down to the waterfall but the rest of the experience makes up for it. Tico owned and operated. Fabulous facilities, stunning jungle and great staff! Strongly recommend a guided tour with Angelica at this time of day.

The hike was fabulous! We loved it. It’s two hours inside a dense, wonderful jungle. Our guide, Francisco, was incredibly knowledgeable and delightful. He is trained in botany, so he was full of interesting facts! My only complaint is that the photo on the website has nothing to do with the tour! We were inside a thick jungle.

Very nice english speaking guide who took us on a tour where we could see a couple of different snakes, spiders, frogs and lizards in the wild.

We visited the Hanging Bridges during the day and decided to come back for the Twilight Walk the next evening to experience the park in a different way. It was a great decision. Seeing the bridges and forest as the light changed and night approached made it feel like a completely new experience. The walk was enjoyable, and a nice complement to the daytime visit. I really liked it and would recommend it.

Seeing the forest at dusk which then transitioned to night time was a very atmospheric experience. The tour was a real joy and the knowledge and desire of our guide Joseth to share it, combined with his friendliness and enthusiasm ensured it. Would we recommend this tour? Yes absolutely!
